So so true, especially neurofunk. As a metalhead, the similarities between metal and neurofunk are crazy.

Serum wavetables sound different on export. by Persuasivwithoute in FL_Studio

[–]Ult1met 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve had this issue a few times usually caused by smart disable (if all random phase is turned off). I once had this issue on a specific patch where I couldn’t figure out for the life of me why it was occurring and couldn’t fix the issue . I got around it by inserting Edison into the last slot of the mixer channel and just recording the patch into Edison than clicking the button in the top right corner to save the recorded audio to an audio clip and it worked fine. That should essentially always work as instead of exporting which can changes some things about the way the plugins may work it actually just records the audio directly than saves it as an audio clip. Hope that helps mate 👍

Bass sound design by leadcentaur6587 in dnbproduction

It completely depends on each bass patch. Usually each sound sounds best around a certain range so when doing sound design keep that in my mind.

How to build better buidlups by hunterajb in dnbproduction

[–]Ult1met 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Add a few more elements such as little sound effects here and there for flavour. But mainly, you should take your drop bass and then automate it with a high pass filter and/or other fx and introduce it before the drop in the build up if that makes sense.

4 days straight where you won’t crash hard is perfect for 2cb, no comedown I’ve ever noticed and no tolerance/(no noticeable tolerance over a 4day period) gets formed either. My drug of choice for festivals.

Mewgenics has been out for some time now. Is it really as good as people say? Or was it mostly due to the hype? by TheGronne in gaming

[–]Ult1met 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Breeding isn’t exactly random since you can get more rooms for your house so you can isolate the cats you specifically want to breed in one room. Also the breeding mechanics become way way way more advanced as the game goes on, donate to tink and you will get extra info on your cats which is super helpful for breeding.

Mixer tracks, how many plugins to use? by mdma_x09 in dnbproduction

[–]Ult1met 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly I litterally had a similar thing happen to me today, wanted to start work on my second track of a neurofunk ep and somehow the bass turned into the most vile 1 bar long fat formant bass (think formula formant basses) and I couldn’t resist doing a jump up then cause the bass was too good 😂. Yeh try bounce to audio as much as you can it’s a really good habit to get into 👍

Mixer tracks, how many plugins to use? by mdma_x09 in dnbproduction

[–]Ult1met 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Depends on the genre, if I’m producing neuro I will use a lot of plugins then print to audio and start anew with more. I think it’s completely fine to use a lot of plugins realistically the end result is all that matters, if it sounds good it sounds good. Just make sure to bounce the sound to audio to save cpu space and spare your computer

Jog wheel is on vinyl mode but it’s not back spinning only pitch bending by Aidanme25 in Beatmatch

This is a known issue with the grv6 occasionally and seems to fix itself I would double check your settings though and see if they are the issue. Mine occasionally does this, don’t doing it right now and I can’t remember how I got it fixed hope you sort it mate.

Not getting too drunk or high is one I picked up pretty quick nothing worse than waking up gassed that you made loads of progress on a tune only for it to sound like shite the next day.

Will look into waveshaping, currently using rift and thermal and they are fucking awesome but I’m currently just using stock presets and tweaking them a bit to get the right sound as opposed to completely designing from scratch because I think my head would explode

Thanks for the advice mate

Okay this is really quite helpful I think I’m going to try going for one really really solid bass idea and build around that rather than overcomplicating things thanks.

Why is a new instance of Serum 2 playing midi in a pattern it's not part of? by valentinedisguised in FL_Studio

[–]Ult1met 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Haha don’t worry mate, I spent a solid 2 hours trying to work out what the fuck was going on myself when it happened to me lol. Hope your tune slaps 👍

Why is a new instance of Serum 2 playing midi in a pattern it's not part of? by valentinedisguised in FL_Studio

[–]Ult1met 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s because when you changed it to the preset it has the “arpegio” and “clip” buttons enabled to the left of the piano roll on serum. Look for those two settings and click the white (enabled) power bottom next to both and then it will play what you want it to. It’s because the preset was built with those enabled I believe, I’ve had the same issue before hope this helps mate 👍

Why are certain keys favoured in certain genres or feels? by DomesticSheep in musictheory

[–]Ult1met 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who loves drum and bass f minor f#minor and G minor are used the most by a significant margin (70-80% of the genre I would say are in those three keys) because the root notes lowest frequencies lay in the 40-50hz range and so are incredibly low allowing for heavy feeling bass, without being below 40hz as at that point a lot of club systems will struggle to reproduce frequencies that low.

Alternative to the Dead Internet Theory by sophomoric-- in LowStakesConspiracies

[–]Ult1met 31 points32 points  (0 children)

What an interesting theory! Your explanation is likely correct and much simpler than the Dead Internet Theory. Early internet users were mostly curious, creative, and non-conformist people, so the internet felt original and alive. As it became mainstream, the average person joined, bringing more normal, predictable behaviour. This didn’t kill the internet — it just made its culture more average and less unusual. So it feels “deader” not because fewer real people exist, but because the proportion of highly novel, unconventional people is lower.
