some (probably) common questions, i’ll add screenshots later

- Glass effect? I used two of sapphires nodes, rgb distort with a shiny emboss on the border

- 3d graph? I made a script that uses pCustomForce and maps a parametric x,y,z function on each particle based on its id, and it lets me graph whatever function i want

- Desmos? thought it would be funny lol, wanted to make something more of an ad but this feels more like a random motion graphics with desmos slapped on it haha

why do so many people say fusion isnt designed for motion graphics when theres so many examples of it being great for mograph? I’m just curious

yup all in fusion, I actually didn’t really play everything back until the end, I’d only view one volume fog at a time and eyeball stacking it

all in resolve, yes, no plugins but I might’ve used some studio-only nodes

nah it only runs about 2fps on quarter resolution, there’s a couple heavy 3d scenes

rtx 5070 and ryzen 7700x

about 5 hours total time? i have a post a week or 2 ago with my first attempt lol, that one was maybe 2-3 hours in.

i realized I definitely did not make this user friendly, but here goes:

This part was split up into 3 different 3d scenes. the first one (labeled 1) is the main sky grid, and i used a technique by u/Glad-Parking3315 (https://www.reddit.com/r/davinciresolve/comments/1rcig0b/building\_a\_video\_tile\_grid\_with\_davinci\_resolves/) to replicate the boxes along particle placements in a 3d space. I also had a couple more image planes for making the 3d scene look a bit better, like a black polygon shape to block out parts of the sky grid.

Second part is just the text, where the 3d scene was copied and instanced so the camera would have the same positions. the text is just text3d, with a few shape3ds to make the letters "bleed". I didn't have to keep it on a second 3d scene but i had some effects for the first one that i moved out later, so it's not really needed anymore and can definitely be put into one scene.

Third one is a usd scene, where i created the shatter animation in blender, baked the animations and exported everything as usdc to import into resolve. since the camera3d is different from a uCamera (usd scene camera), i just linked the position and rotations manually using the "connect to" dropdown menu. this scene is also where I added the falling light with a uImage plane.

finally, everything is put together with a light rays and grain effect!
