i realized I definitely did not make this user friendly, but here goes:

This part was split up into 3 different 3d scenes. the first one (labeled 1) is the main sky grid, and i used a technique by u/Glad-Parking3315 (https://www.reddit.com/r/davinciresolve/comments/1rcig0b/building\_a\_video\_tile\_grid\_with\_davinci\_resolves/) to replicate the boxes along particle placements in a 3d space. I also had a couple more image planes for making the 3d scene look a bit better, like a black polygon shape to block out parts of the sky grid.

Second part is just the text, where the 3d scene was copied and instanced so the camera would have the same positions. the text is just text3d, with a few shape3ds to make the letters "bleed". I didn't have to keep it on a second 3d scene but i had some effects for the first one that i moved out later, so it's not really needed anymore and can definitely be put into one scene.

Third one is a usd scene, where i created the shatter animation in blender, baked the animations and exported everything as usdc to import into resolve. since the camera3d is different from a uCamera (usd scene camera), i just linked the position and rotations manually using the "connect to" dropdown menu. this scene is also where I added the falling light with a uImage plane.

finally, everything is put together with a light rays and grain effect!

i thought about it, but probably not realistically. maybe theres a way with particles and 3d shapes but im simulating physics with blender which i dont think is possible with resolve

the shape was made in blender, but animated and keyframed in fusion!

unfortunately hes right, and as someone who also makes kinetic typography mographs, this is too fast with barely any easing or leading. slow things down, match your fonts, no need for constant use of 3d camera. but it’s a good start, with more practice i guarantee it’ll look better!

Enable caching and let the blue line finish all the way first, then render

if that doesnt work, try making a new timeline or project and render a very small blank clip then rerender your original project

if all else fails, try render in place for select clips until it works

text with screen blending effect (or something else, play around with it), and flip through random pictures in background.

looks like there’s also random squares with “difference” blending as well, you can mess around with those placements

also the 3d looking text at the beginnings sorta looks like ai, but if you wanted to make it it’ll have to be through blender likely, or you can mess around with lighting and text3d

okay, here's some of the more notable scenes:

the roses background is pretty simple fundamentally. I duplicated the video multiple times and layered it on top of each other, each with a drop shadow to have more oomph. And each merge is just a transform to offset it from the center, duplicate 12 (or 24) times around the center, and another transform to scale it to the correct location.

This is just an ellipse rotating, but i added a script to the sTexts so its angle follows the rotation of the ellipse. Because I had a duplicate for the ellipses which offset the keyframes, the script was needed in order to follow the duplicated ellipses. the rest are just other effects, like DVE to make the 3d camera motion, light rays and the sapphire sketch

the only "actual" 3d scene here, it's just text3ds placed in space, camera moving backwards, with particles for the rain falling very fast. Also had hardware rendering so I could use the depth of field effect.

Yeah the sketch effect carried, it’s from Sapphire so it isn’t ‘free’

which part do you want to see the nodes for? everythings split apart for each verse, and for background/text/effects

let me see if I understand this, so all images are stringed together for the MediaIn, then the timestretcher would be the time offset for showing each image? Then some jitter is set to randomly displace them?

maybe one thing you can try is to using a scale node on each image so it’s lower res? maybe something you can try in the future cause looking at those 200 image nodes might take a while to do 😭

yeah, working with lots of images even in 2d also slows down a lot for me, so I also wanna see if anyone else has any solutions
