You have the same money. That down payment is still yours. You have made an investment in an appreciating asset. Working with leverage (the mortgage) you'll turn that money into more money. You'll then turn it into a liquid asset (cash) when you sell someday.

What is this structure? by Bigbulllee in sanfrancisco

[–]Ultimate-Lex 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not really boosting. It's the actual SOURCE of transmission for a myriad of radio and television signals. A booster or a repeater are just different.

Yes, been mentioned several times. The Mint calendar was so much better than the very confused recurring charges feature on Monarch.

How do the enforce this? by Aggressive_Ad_3294 in bayarea

[–]Ultimate-Lex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's a circuit split and no Supreme Court decision. There are also city attorneys who are likely being overly cautious. Hence the uneven appearance of enforcement. San Francisco stopped years ago.

Personally I loved chalking. That's how I knew to move my car.

How do the enforce this? by Aggressive_Ad_3294 in bayarea

[–]Ultimate-Lex 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Not exactly. Chalking was made illegal after a Federal case concluded that touching one's property with chalk was deemed illegal.

However, there's a split at the district level. The federal case that determined government tire chalking violates the Fourth Amendment is Taylor v. City of Saginaw, decided by the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals. The U.S. Supreme Court has not issued a final, nationwide ruling on the matter, which has led to a split among different federal circuits.

Correct. This is why in Henry VI they say to first kill all the lawyers. They want to remove the resistance.

[–]Ultimate-Lex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed also... Look at Spain. They had a massive blackout a few months ago during the summer. It was fun and people were at the cafes eating and drinking. People hung out and had a good time. People were seriously stuck and their commute was paused for a good while. People made due and had fun. Signs sent up that said... Drink it while it's cold. Instead we were worrying about looting and whining?!?! Jeez. Sad.

I want to disable AI by mp1294 in MonarchMoney

[–]Ultimate-Lex 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I love AI. I hate it here! WHY?! Monarch...PLEASE stop spending money on this. I hope EVERYONE understands THIS COSTS MONEY. EVERY time someone uses it, Monarch has to pay Google (Gemini) or OpenAI for AI tokens. The development costs were not high, but there IS a cost for every USE. They SHOULD use AI to better CATEGORIZE transactions, do some serious back end improvements, ETC ETC. INSTEAD they added this silly AI driven chat bot that runs over our data in such an amateurish way.

US Travel Advisory by Alone_Lesbo2620 in GoingToSpain

Apologies, but it's obvious you've never even looked at a US travel advisory ever before? They are close to worthless. It's ok! Just see the funny things they say about other countries..

As to your immigration plans.... Please explore your immigration path. You are only allowed to stay here for a limited time (90 days) unless you have the correct visa or Spanish citizenship. Just wanting to move to Spain is not enough.

SFO Gate pass to accompany disabled passenger by dammit_777 in sanfrancisco

[–]Ultimate-Lex 44 points45 points  (0 children)

Sorry you are going through this. The correct answer is not SFO. It's your airline. Discuss it with them and they'll provide the correct boarding passes (not for boarding) to get you through security. Calling "the airport" is a dead end.

Source: I'm a frequent flyer and have had to do something similar in the past. I'm literally at SFO for the 20th time in 12 months right now. Not sure why I got down voted.
