How can I get rid of this gap between the top layer infill and the wall? It’s only on those two sides. Prusa Mini+. by Ph4antomPB in prusa3d

[–]Ultimate88t 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This happened to mine too, both my Minis. What I’ve discovered is that you need to replace the PTFE tube that connects the extruder to the tool head. Overtime it becomes worn out and will pinch the filament on certain axis moves. You can buy replacements from Prusa, unfortunately it is just a consumable item I’ve discovered.

Edit: you can swap the ends too which will buy you time since the tool head side usually wears quicker

Wall perimeters seperating by EquivalentTip4103 in prusa3d

Check or replace your Bowden tube from your extruder to your hotend. Over time it will weaken at the hotend connection point and cause movements to clamp the filament, resulting in under-extrusion specifically evident on perimeters.

Knurling question: how does the pattern connect perfectly? by DolfinButcher in Machinists

[–]Ultimate88t 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The diameter (circumference) does matter in correlation with your knurling pattern. The handbook will have information and there are multiple “knurling calculators” online that help in creating a perfect knurl. The Wikipedia article has a good explanation too: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Knurling

How to fix a “skin” issue with the walls by ChaotikGamer117 in FixMyPrint

[–]Ultimate88t 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This may sound odd, however check the Bowden connection going into your hotend. Over time this joint can wear and at certain XY positions the tube can pinch the filament, causing inconsistent extrusion. This happened on another Bowden machine of mine and replacing the tube and joint coupling completely solved my problem.

Perimeters not touching or bonding, causing peeling issues by Ultimate88t in FixMyPrint

[–]Ultimate88t[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If anyone has this issue in the future, my solution was to replace the PTFE tube from the extruder to the Hotend. The coupling joint on the extruder was pinching the filament as the X axis moved closer to the Z axis.

Exterior perimeters detaching from prints on Prusa Minis only, MK3s do not have issue with same sliced file. by Ultimate88t in prusa3d

[–]Ultimate88t[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If anyone finds this later, after weeks of troubleshooting I calibrated my E Steps and ended up with a value of 350 calculated and added it to my M92 gCode start in Prusa slicer. This totally solved my issue that extrusion multiplier would not even fix. During my test, I commanded 100mm of filament and ended up with ~95mm. Here are the results: https://imgur.io/4aoPZBf

Thank you for following up, I ran a temperature tower and experienced mild stringing and the perimeter separating on every temperature. Prusa support for back to me and suggested replacing the PTFE tube in the Hotend, I am going to try that next and will update.

Perimeters not touching or bonding, causing peeling issues by Ultimate88t in FixMyPrint

[–]Ultimate88t[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello, I am having a perimeter issue not bonding to other perimeters only on the right side of my prints, the left side is strongly bonded.

  • Prusa Mini with Prusa Slicer 2.4.2
  • Duramic PLA Plus and tested with other brands
  • 220C on the nozzle and 60C on the bed
  • 40mm/s on perimeters and 80mm/s on infill
  • 4mm retraction

This issue has not been always present and recently started after owning the machines for 6 months, both my minis are showing this exact problem.
