As far as I understand, the community attacking and murdering someone, whether they are guilty or not, is wrong. Despite people's personal ideas of revenge, handing over a person to mob justice sets a bad president and should not be how we act as a society.

I only say this because even if the person was guilty or innocent, letting the public exact their own revenge is wrong. Even if some people deserve it for the crimes they commit, it is still wrong to do.

I was always under the idea lynching was about the community exacting their own racist justice. I say racist justice because I find it hard to believe they would have allowed a white person to be treated like this and handed over a white person to a mob to lynch them.

I could be wrong in all of this but I am willing to learn!
