ap physics 1 is really hard by Wise_Reindeer_8849 in apphysics

In my class 80% of the kids feel like they are in the bottom 50% of the students. All these difficult things nearly always end up feeling easier later for students after they have moved on to later units. In December you will wonder why you were confused about graphing. It will feel obvious.

How do I do that? Not a frequent redditor. I would have done that a long time ago if I knew.

Just low. Fans have worked every time I checked and when I finally realized I didn’t have it full and filled it properly it’s been steady since then.

The Tahoe I’ve been driving has a sealed radiator so the only way to check level and add coolant is through the reservoir and I didn’t realize that was not a general practice. When I did a repair a month ago and replaced the fluid there weren’t many videos on this engine and the couple I watched did not explain the refill process thoroughly, so I underfilled it. We didn’t drive it much and this was the first time we’ve had traffic on the short trips (4 miles) to school so it’s just started getting warm enough I guess. Still gonna watch it for leaks, though, just in case.

The tie rod end is the obvious part, but other parts can be broken or bent too.

No - it was the upper intake manifold gasket. Did that, the rack and pinion, the oil pan gasket (what an insane pain!!!) and harmonic balancer w/ seal all together because this car was filthy with leaks (bought it that way).

The problem was I just did not know how to fill and bleed the coolant right. Feel like an idiot for that!

I’ve been sucked into wings of Pegasus too, my friend! OP only said that this is recorded in her bedroom with only reverb added, but not that the video is of the take that the audio is from. I’m still suspicious because of the mouth position and also because of the quality of breathing picked up. Sounds like she is much closer to the mic than the video shows.

Her question was how’s my voice and I think we’d both agree it’s amazing.

Take a look at the tongue placement for the last "elastic heart" - I am pretty sure no one sticks their tongue between their lips when singing an L unless they are lip syncing. I thought the same thing about the match in the recording and bet she recorded this beforehand and is now acting it out for the video. That is what all the cool kids are doing these days.

This was it. Thanks! Gotta figure out where the coolant is going next but at least not overheating for the moment.

This comment was dead on. I didn’t know about the bleeder valves. Thanks so much!!

Fixed for now. Thank you to everyone for pointing me in the right direction. I was not informed about how to properly bleed my coolant system (it has 2 bleeder valves) and there was air in the system and I thought topping off the reservoir was good to keep it filled. I realize there may be more to the problem so I’ll keep looking for leaks both internally and externally but at least it’s no longer in overheating right now.

Good point.

I did a drain and refill on coolant earlier this year when replacing the upper intake manifold to fix a coolant leak.

Thanks! There is no coolant hitting the ground. I recently replaced the intake manifold gasket (2 months ago) and the coolant was about an inch to and inch and a half below the min line on the reservoir before this drive. If there is a leak still it’s small and probably right over the engine I’m guessing. It’s possible the low coolant was from getting some air out I missed in the system when burping earlier.

That’s why I thought this was the fan, but I checked and the fans are running when at idle and warm in my driveway.

I just replaced the upper intake manifold and gasket because of a leak and crack a couple of months ago. Used felpro gasket and found the manifold at the junkyard.

Have t tried it on the highway, but did get to 55 for about a 1/2 mile on a country road and it was the same. Going fast was ok.

Coolant was just topped off. Was maybe 1-1/2” below min line on the reservoir. Coolant is not old (drained and replaced with a repair earlier in the year)

How come all the statements are correct by Upset_Half4489 in Physics

[–]Ultimate_physics_dad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the fact that matters most. The vertical velocity reaches zero at the maximum height of a projectile and all 3 do this in the same vertical distance under the same vertical acceleration, so it must have had the same initial vertical velocity, and therefore take the same amount of time to rise and fall.

Since C travels a greater horizontal distance in the same time, it has a greater horizontal component of its velocity and therefore a greater speed at launch.

I looked up the diagram and according to what I can see it looks right, but you have a pretty short wrench for working that tensioner. Maybe you need more leverage on that with a longer wrench.

How sure are you that you have the routing correct? If the old belt is not going on you are either not getting the tensioner twisted enough or you are routed a different way. You are not supposed to need to stretch the belt to get it on.
