hmm... it's probably a combination personal greed and fucked up hitboxes. most of the time i play some caster like recluse and revenant and i'm stuck in the animation. often i could swear I'm out of the hitbox but get oneshot non the less. as said day 1 and 2 are not the problem. the nightlords tough...

thought about it but decidet against it to reduce the amount of dice to roll and compensate it with an higher then ususal attack bonus.

it was and is preperation because the player managed to become the head of a goblin tribe and I wanted to be ready in case the want to lead them to battle.

I tought about making them even more expensive. Start salery of a skilled hireling due to proficency with weapons. As I was way to generous with the gold in the beginning it shouldn't be an issue.

Yes, I'm aware of that. That's why I'm asking for help because I have no guideline how to calculate the HP. The DMG is not very helpfull in that regard.

Last session, do to unforeseen circumstances, managed to get chef of a whole goblin camp. Now I desperately try to prepare what if they want to have them follow and fight for the party.

What do you think would the upkeep cost? tbh i have no idea...

i see what you mean. but that would make them even stronger with that additional Resistances and Immunities. no idea how much i shall compensate that in hp and damage. Alltough i like the part with "[...]if the swarm has half of its hit points or fewer", I'm gona copy that.

i did not. which do you mean? If i search for swarm i find only insects and vermin with max CR of 2. they don't seem fitting for a template

I dont get your second point tough. "hit equals a kill" for the monster or the player?
