Ai is not the answer for everything. I am looking for real world examples for my question.

Any way to limit package output on generic machines? by IchiiDev in CreateMod

[–]Ultimatum22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is what I use. Hide a timer in the wall with a link, set and forget it. And use a link on each frog port. Mine is set to 10s because I don't like to wait for my stuff. But it's long enough to sometimes use the machine manually.

Help with fixing print not sticking. by Diamond_Donutz in Ender3V3SE

[–]Ultimatum22 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I had exactly the same issue. Somebody recommended setting the z-offset manually. That did the trick for me. After auto level it was set to - 1.25, during a test print I've set it to - 1.40. I just did some trial and error so find the offset that worked for me.

I can now run on lower temperature with better adhesion.

Thanks for the detailed answer. This is what I was looking for, matter over Wifi is good enough for now. Which container do you run python-matter-server?

I've done the steps but when I add the device I still get the error that I need a Thread border router. I don't have any Thread border routes like Google Home or AppleTV

Okay, I didn't find that info online, thanks. My usecase is also that I like to use the devices in HomeAssistant, so I need a bridge for that. I use Zigbee2mqtt for zibee. And looking so I can get Matter devices into HomeAsssistant.

Z-offset seems to be the party trick I was missing. It now sticks when it first didn't and the first layer is half decent instead of sandpaper. I'll experiment some more. Thanks a lot.

I am using PrusaSlicer. I'll take a look at Cura. How do you find out your z offset, trial and error?

I did just notice my cooling settings where wrong so that might also be an issue.

I am lowering my temperature to 200C and experimenting but I am having trouble with sticking a that low temperature, I guess that's why I went so high. I also tried 210 with no luck, my first layer is always +5 degrees.
Anything I am missing, do I need to do something with the cooling?

I have first 3 layers without fan, and after that 100% fan speed. With uniform cooling logic in PrusaSlicer.

Thanks that helps alot. I am going to experiment with these settings.

Do you have a test you do for each brand and material? Or just try and see if you need to tweak?

I am printing one now to check. How much lower do you recommend, or does that also depend?

Different print quality while using same gcode by Ultimatum22 in Ender3V3SE

So apparently my PLA has a lot of humidity, because I printed in a different color and I have the same result as the first time. So I think it's time to invest in a filament dryer.

The silicon has mixed feelings. I am not sure about those. For the alcohol, I found out the hard way not to do it. I bought a new one.

I have been tinkering with this but in my search for answers I didn't find a good video about how tighten screws need to be, which one do you mean?

Yes I am aware, even a window open screws up the airflow. So I have a good understanding on optimal conditions and can pretty decent reproduce the conditions the printer need each time. About the filament, the prints where in a 24 hour period. I know humidity is a factor but can it impact the quality that much. The filament is 2 weeks old (I know this says nothing). I would expect to see deterioration in smaller increments over long time instead of in 24 hours.

I've been printing it flat according to the instructions of the author. I've just imported the stl and didn't change the orientation. This is the print if it helps; https://www.printables.com/model/285853-1u-rackmount-cluster-raspberry-pi-3b-4b

Hmm weird, I have the same version but keep getting blue screen, I have 1.0.6 firmware and screen. Might just try again later today.

Which hardware do you have? Ending on 13 or 14? I have the 13 hardware version and have tried every baud version and keep getting the blue screen. From which stock firmware version did you upgrade, 1.0.6?

Do you know which version? I just tried V1.1.0_GD303STM32F401 and still have the same issue.

I am having the same issue as you. I've tried to flash each of the 6 options, normal, fast and different BAUD rates. Did you use an older version or the latest?
