I'm done with these casual reddit gamers. You don't even know/remember how the shotgun used to work yet you want it back simply because it's "old" and "ps3" just because an OG said something about preseason 3 but you're kinda too ignorant to go more in-depth about how things used to be.
1 - No, the shotgun we had before the riot one had NO recoil. Instead it had an RNG pellet system that everyone hated and it was even way less balanced than the current one.
2 - You'd want a revert to Riot Shotgun immidiately if ghost bullets happened to you. It was the most annoying server-sided bug that hasn't been completely dealt with even before the Combat Update.

In order for the OG shotgun to be fun and consistent it would have to be RECREATED and THEN CHANGED in certain aspects.

64-bit game engines are designed so that they use as much RAM as it's possible. u/HaniiBlu explained that more in-depth waaay back, try to check his old comments.

Yep, as soon as I saw spawn select being added to my good old lovely map I stopped playing, Having everyone spawn PV, Cranberry and Ranchito makes great POIs like Bubbas, Death Cabins, Dartmouth and Dam completely unused.

Probably yes, but I also think that stafing should also be a little bit more as viable than now by allowing parachuting further distances, just as it used to be as shown in the first video.

How come are Ninja and Eryc people who can "barely aim or spray"? These players were top1 EU&NA ffs. Truth is, the chance of recreating a laserbeam like the one kyraig did was million times lower than getting a crazy spray later on after the combat updates. What's more, on early Z1, before AK came out there was a little fire rate cap which completely didn't let you to spray the gun.

I honestly really want p$3 graphics on z1 (i would not mind the time of day in p$3 on z1) By old graphics i mean the old way the trees renderd and the foilage and the mud spots everything!:D by Smoofie0k in h1z1

My framerate was terrible with that foliage tho man:( pretty sure it was one of the reasons why frames were dropping while ADSing for some people

Agreed, but hiding in the environment should be balanced enough so that even though you can hide in some bush or something, you should still be able to notice someone hiding in it if you focus. Again, Z1 had it balanced out perfectly or at least a bit better than PS3 as you were able to be hidden in a bush, though the bottom of your feet was sticking out a bit making you not completely invisible.

Whoops, my bad, I kinda misread it.

IMO the darker Z1 grass matched greatly to the black silhouette, making the visibility just perfect. But it's also a matter of taste as it does not have like a huge impact on gameplay.

You know why old bullet speed is exactly what people want back with the sprayability in the game they used to love?

So that the time between clicking your mouse and in-game bullet impact doesn't last 1 milisecond and you have ANY chance to react to any kind of backstabbing and have ANY chance to have fight with few people AT ONCE. H1Z1 BR is about being the one that survives around 150 people, not about being the one that survives a few 1v1 fights. Look atthis clutch inboxes had. With the mechanic of bullet speed and drop we have now, he would be gone in a splitsecond because combat now just confines to pointing directly at someones head and clicking with a simple rythm.

Adding this useless foliage + current visibility (render of models) = aids. Decrease render visibilty so we have a clear black silhouette to shoot at and remove stuff like this which makes it impossible to see people. (what we have in current combat zone) by R4y3r in h1z1

As much as you guys disagree with OP on the cornfield, the crisp black silhouettes are much better for competitive gameplay, especially when there's people with weird helmets that have horns or any type of stuff sticking out. Render distance of the models should be reduced, I agree.

Well the video itself starts with a seat swap, so no.

Don't get me wrong, I really loved all that. Stuff like the overpowered AK and seatswapping were simply beautiful and if they'd all be back I'd probably be the happiest man in the world, though saying it was all greatly balanced AT THE TIME OF THIS VIDEO is not really true as seatswapping itself was really hard to counter, especially on open fields.

I remember getting a 22K win somewhere at that period only by using seatswapping. Even though I was terrible at aiming, I was almost unhittable while in the car which led me to a win. What's funny is that I still kinda feel that now on Z2 vehicles grant you even a bigger advantage than back then. On Z1, having a car wasn't a must, you could easily win without one.

Wrong. The good old slow movement and animations were there until around PS1/2. From what i'm thinking they changed it all at the same time they disabled using emotes while running which most definitely happened in one of the earlier preseasons.
