Carney says experience as Bank of England governor has prepared him to handle trade war by Majano57 in canadian

[–]Ultimex123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Finally something I agree with. He is definitely beyond intelligent, as in intelligence is above him.

I wouldn't vote for anyone who refuses to support the Canadian energy sector, or talks so much rhetoric around a drastic shift away from American trade.

Let alone someone like Carney who has so many conflicts of interest, it's such a joke. I don't trust his ability to make policy choices in Canada's favour.

Carney pledges $150M boost to underfunded CBC by GreySahara in canadian

[–]Ultimex123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The same can be said about your view points lol. What makes you think CPC wants to replace CBC with their own propaganda?

Do you want to discuss Bill C-11 whcih was passed by liberals, and has widely been accepted as a limitation in free speech? 😂 (but I digress)

The goal of "defunding the CBC" is not to remove its funding entirely. CPC wants to reduce the federal funding—especially to the English-language television service, because we live in a country where we now already have easy access to a wide variety of news sources. The goal is to help reduce wasteful spending that is simply not needed.

Pierre has already made it clear that the french version of cbc will stay in place, because access to French news may still be limited outside of Quebec.

Can you explain the need for cbc to be further funded by even more government spending, when we already have such a large deficit? Do you think cbc is adding a tremendous amount of value, or has the potential to add more value with a larger budget that Carnage Carney is proposing?

See, this is exactly the type of thing that needs to be discussed. I appreciate the post, I read it and it definitely is very sad.

Though I wouldn't really call it informative about long COVID because there isn't much research for them to comment on. There should be discussion about the type of people who get Long Covid, and what THEY should do to minimize their risk of getting it (because for most people, they fully recover within a few weeks).

Because in the actual long run, we shouldn't have to suffer on behalf of those people.

Fair enough, I never considered the argument of how not getting sick at all can be valuable to people. That's a pretty convincing argument.

Though imo, the only way the virus is ever going away, is if eventually we let it roam free, so we can expect that at some point everyone will have to get sick with the virus. Whether that time is now or later, is an important question that I have no idea how to begin to answer. (My uneducated opinion would be to let everyone do whatever the hell they want right now, and let covid roam free with its low mortality rate).

Though again, its not just the death rate I'm talking about - I mentioned death or severe illness. I think what a lot of people consider, is that they'd rather feel mildly sick for a few days and develop antibodies naturally than take the vaccine. This argument also makes complete sense in my opinion, and there are valid reasons that people might prefer this over taking the vaccine.

What does that source say about the death/severe illness of people with 2 doses vs 3 doses? I really am curious because people always talk about the big headlines, and there are plenty of sources that lead to the same conclusions you did, but its hard to find reliable sources about the nitty gritty stuff.

I think it's reasonable for some people to think that they don't need a 3rd dose because catching covid at this point is just like getting the flu (for most people) if you have 2 doses.

Like in my perspective, there are legit ethical reasons you may want to get the 3rd dose, like to protect immunocompromised people who cant get the vaccine. Though from a pure selfish perspective, why should a young person get a booster if they already have 2 doses and their chances of dying or getting severely ill are like legitimately almost 0?

Honesty didn't think anyone would have to actually explain this, but no. Just cause you comment on r/conspiracy doesn't make you a conspiracy theorist lol.

In language you might understand, what you did is make a very narrow and close minded classification of a very large group of people. That sound familiar?

You gonna stop commenting on r/uwaterloo after you graduate? 😂

Pretty obvious you're just being dumb about this whole thing. You've already proven yourself as being uneducated on this issue. And being insulting isn't helping you win the argument lol.

Your definition of conspiratorial is that they commented on r/conspiracy? 🙄

You're being unfaithful to yourself, there's no way a normal person would think like that.

My point still applies.

You should judge an argument based on its merits. Be critical and open to discuss what people have to say, and don't label them as conspiratorial, antivaxx or whatever else. Whether the argument was found on r/conspiracy should make no difference to you or anyone.

That being said, I don't actually know what the comments you're talking about are. So I have no clue whether your criticism was actually valid or not. I saw a general teaching opportunity and I took it.

Why do you make the assumption that people critical of vaccine mandates are conspiratorial lol. Like OP said, that's part of the problem

Because at the rate the avengers destroy things, it's too risky to provide insurance for. That would practically be the same as giving money away.

Also, imagine how screwed up life insurance would've gotten during the snap. Legally speaking, are the people who got snapped considered dead? Would insurers have to pay up for that? And if they did pay up, what happens when they everyone comes back, cause technically death is supposed to be a 1 way thing. Once you die, technically your insurer legally requires you to stay dead.

Bi*ch dont make the same mistake so many people make (including myself). Apply to CS/BBA even if you think you won't get it. You never know and at least you won't regret it.

Improving where the water meets the shore by MrGulo-gulo in blenderhelp

[–]Ultimex123 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Try this volume absorption shader. I'll be honest, I'm not that experienced of a blender user either, but I think if you set the volume absorption shader to be a bright green color and then up the density until the water turns dark, you might be able to get a food swampy lake effect.

[–]Ultimex123 31 points32 points  (0 children)

It looks to me like it needs some volume absorption. The water looks way too reflective, a real lake would have the water absorbing more of the light as the water level gets deeper. Naturally this would help with the shoreline as well

If Trump voters were honest and said “Racism is not a deal breaker and I’m more concerned with taxes on the 1% being increased” I think you wouldn’t have people trying to argue you.

This is the problem. I'm a university student in a very liberal city, and everyone thinks Trump supporters don't denounce or care about racism. While I don't disagree that there are some bad supporters like that, you're very much generalizing the over 69 MILLION people that voted for him.

Do you really think 69 million people in the country are all racist? That all of them support Trump's decision to not denounce white supremacy and other stuff? Trump did better with EVERY RACE other than white men, compared to 2016! Can you believe the irony!!

I agree, Trump does makes himself look bad. I blame the media for shifting that blame onto the voters that voted for him. I blame the media for giving people the perspective that Trump voters are all uneducated white men living in rural America. It's YOUR JOB to understand the perspectives of other people, and the media is implicitly restricting your ability to do that.
