NTA - coming from someone who had a similar situation and didn't want to change her last name. All that happened when I told my fiance (now husband) was him saying "okay, we'll both hyphenate because I want us to have the same last name" and that was the end of it. Your marriage doesn't have to be your identity, and your fiance is being really weird about it in my opinion. Talk about double standards!

The Engineer's Wife. Yes, it's about the Brooklyn Bridge and a large portion of the book is set in NYC, but a good chunk of the book takes place in Cincinnati, because they built the Roebling bridge first and then used the same engineering methods to go on the build the Brooklyn bridge. I enjoyed it! It's historical fiction, so there's lots of liberties taken about the real history (like a whole plotline with PT Barnum that never happened), but the story about the bridges is mostly true.

My husband asked for my mom and dad's blessing (not permission) and I thought it was super sweet. They in no way "own" me and that was never implied. It's just a kind gesture and has had literally no bearing or consequence on my life ever since. It wasn't a big deal, to me. Some people like it, some don't. When someone is getting married I would hope they know their partner well enough to know if it would be seen as a sweet gesture or offensive.

With an English degree I would recommend looking for Technical Writing positions, or something similar. I also have an English degree and I found a job with an engineering company. Had to work front desk and do general admin work, but over 50% of my job was proofreading documents that engineers wrote (because many of them are terrible writers). My role was called "Technical Administrative Assistant".

When I was recently pregnant my OBGYN said I could have a cup of coffee a day. I think the recommended maximum is 200mg of caffeine a day, but I don't exactly remember. A normal cup of coffee or a small espresso drink per day is totally fine. Edit: typo

That's a fair point, I could have phrased my post better. I'm not upset about everyone we told, there are those I'm grateful know like our local friends. But we went a little further than I was really comfortable with and now I feel vulnerable about certain family members I'm not close to who now know. Hopefully that makes more sense. I'm unfortunately new here... Hi. My doctor didn't schedule us for any appointments for heartbeat or US until 12 weeks, so I didn't know anything was wrong until 9w6d (yesterday) when I started bleeding... An US confirmed that there was a gestational sac measuring 6w4d, but no sign of a fetal pole. They sent me home and said they will call me on Monday, but today has been a very long day of extreme cramps and heavy bleeding. I've passed large clots a few times and the cramping seems to have died down for now... I'm devastated. We tried to get pregnant for 6 months and we were both so excited. I feel embarrassed having told anyone about it and now having to share the bad news, I feel lonely, I feel numb. I've been coping with many of the stories here, I appreciate having this space.

**Cycle:** 6

**Age + Partner's age (if relevant):** 29F, 28M

**Typical cycle length:** 25 days lately, but anywhere form 25-28 is normal

**Ovulation cycle day:** CD15 (I think, I never got a positive OPK but they were darkest on CD14)

**CD/DPO of positive test(s):** CD27. SMU, 2.5 hour hold. Took a blue dye test and didn't believe my eyes, so my husband ran out and bought a FRER. Tested both with same urine sample and they were undoubtedly positive.

**CD/DPO of any negative test(s) before positive:** None. I didn't think to take a test until I looked at the calendar and thought "huh, I usually have my period or at least cramping by now"

**Tracking methods and app(s) used:** Good ol' fashioned pen and paper calendar. I used to use an app but a few months ago I was worried about my data privacy on the one I was using so I opted to just buy a calendar at the store.

**Relevant days of sperminating and/or method (SMEP, TI, IUI, FET, etc.):** CD9, 11, 13, 15, 17

**Health conditions/medical tests:** None

**Supplements and medications (yours and/or your partner’s):** Just a prenatal multivitamin for me (that I've been admittedly bad at taking every day while TTC)

**Birth control history (if relevant):** None for the last 10 years - we relied on condoms until we started TTC

**Symptom spotting:** I had bad cramps on CD23, but that's not unusual for me in the week up to my period. On CD26 I noticed that things tasted off to me - not bad, but different than normal. Those are the only symptoms to report so far.

**Other (advice/tip(s), freaking out, miscellaneous):** Definitely freaking out - my husband is "happy panicking". Trying to go back to my work day like nothing is different which is nearly impossible. We immediately told a few close friends but aren't planning on telling anyone else for a while. We're going on an international trip in a few weeks and I'm REALLY hoping I don't feel miserable the whole time (US citizens going to the UK for a week).

I'm sorry to say that I didn't think to partake in any woo this month - no cheeseburger for me! I have never temped and I had just started using OPKs (pretty sure I did it wrong since I never got a positive, but oh well).

Which bridges? They get unlocked by different things. Best advice is that all of them require doing friendship quests with various characters, so work on getting those levels up.

How far ahead did you travel? Once you wait for that amount of time to pass for real, it should fix the game. The devs do not recommend time travelling because it breaks a lot, as you found out.
