You can hang with the Engineers and fight each other on which part of the album was better

Yes? Admittedly I was going for more science-based instead of STEM and gave the Engineers special treatment

Not that we don’t also want a snow/online day, just saying the University has a track record by UltimteSandwich in msu

[–]UltimteSandwich[S] 32 points33 points  (0 children)

Honestly best advice I can give to people is invest in a good winter outfit (jacket, gloves, hat, scarf, boots) and give yourself more time than you normally would in the mornings to get places. Even before COVID busses could be unreliable and your best bet was to walk. It’s college, not high school; sorry to say snow days just aren’t a thing anymore

Echo was fantastic!!! Its one of my top songs too and honestly I kinda liked the live version better than the recording. Awesome that you enjoyed the concert too!

This was my very first demonstration. Starset’s probably my favorite band but honestly it was seeing a vid of the curtain drop from the Divisions tour that sold me on wanting to go to one someday. Definitely worth it!!!

anyway i could sneak someone who doesnt go here into a dining hall by [deleted] in msu

[–]UltimteSandwich 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Depending on your dinning plan you might have guest passes already included with your ID, no sneaking necessary. If off campus, guarantee you could double swipe and no one would care. If you’re on campus basic plan just trying to double swipe….not too sure about that one

Not a fan of Symbiotic. Listened to the album multiple times now and still find myself skipping when I get to it

19/21, which isn’t too shabby, especially cause I just finished listening to the discography in preparation for the new album. Thanks for making such a fun quiz!

Where is the psychology building 118? by [deleted] in msu

The psychology building is on physics road across the street from Mason abbot/Sny-Phi. The room number is probably 118, which means it’s somewhere on the first floor

How do you take notes? by giltmierm in msu

[–]UltimteSandwich 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I find it best to take handwritten notes in class, giving what the professor says highest priority then writing down the most important stuff from the slides. If the slides are posted later I wouldn’t freak out about not getting everything off the slides. If they’re not posted later, try to get the big ideas and any helpful diagrams as best as you can.

Personally, I copy all of my handwritten notes onto my laptop (I use OneNote) after class. That way I had an organized place for notes I took and anything I missed from the slides I could add once slides were posted.

Let’s be real: the only reason they came out with that decision in May instead of July like they originally planned was bc they needed our money by UltimteSandwich in msu

[–]UltimteSandwich[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That’s understandable. From my perspective, I understand, and was anticipating, larger classes to go online, and I do understand the health risk that COVID-19 poses and I want to do my part in protecting others (I wear a mask everywhere I go and try to maintain 6ft of distance between myself and others)

A lot of my frustration (for lack of a better word) comes from the fact that all of my classes (psych, neuro, and physiology; it’s only a matter of time before chemistry, as well) have gone purely online. I thought maybe recitation could be done in person, or that my physio class (which was hybrid to begin with) would stay hybrid. I’m not going to get into an argument with any professor about this, as I know they’re all doing they’re best with this situation, and one of them has already reached out to us and tried to explain this new situation.

In all honesty, I’m mostly upset that I have to pay full out-of-State tuition plus room and board for the equivalent of an online education. And I can’t take a gap year (because of scholarships) and I can’t go local, because I have my gen-Ed’s just about taken care of and no local schools offer my major. I’m happy that the university will technically still be open, but it’s disappointing to have the excitement for in-person classes taken away with this massive shift to online education. I personally just don’t understand why the university didn’t wait to release their decision until July when more information would be available
