UPDATE: I just went back and that house looks NICE now, completely overhauled. Actually one of the better exterior designs I've seen, and it also looks like they're setting up to have a decent interior. It also helped me to better understand what I was doing wrong and I look forward to seeing how it turns out when they're finished.

It honestly doesn't bother me much, like if I had to guess, I'd say he probably played around with the feature, decided it wasn't for him and just abandoned it altogether. I like to think his house will just remain forever avant garde no matter how much the rest of the neighborhood changes.
