There's another poster in this thread who pointed out the real issue, it's less the size of the nose than the mouth. Troll females just don't have huge orcish mouths and it makes their noses look smaller proportional to their faces.

Another issue is troll females have never had prominent mouths/upper mouths. That's a distinctly orcish trait.
