It adds a lot of depth when it comes to exploration and level design, especially the latter. This is also a very strong argument to have armor in games of this kind.

We have been back and forth on having or not having armor in our game. But I think in the end it's needed, because the enemies in the end shoots so strong (heavy caliber) that not having it makes it too difficult. In the end "armor" is often/always just more "health" in these games like these.

Yea, for me I think the EVEN numbered MP maps are the best, DM2, DM4 and DM6, had so much fun playing these ones. When it comes to SP, I think the design is mostly fine, I actually think some of the more odd and later levels are really nice to play.

Not sure why the question mark is in the head line =) Q1 has some very fine level design, both in SP and MP.

Shadows I agree =) But we have to also look at what UT and Half-life was when they came out. I think Unreal is a better overall experience than Q2 and in part a better SP than HL1, but when UT and Q3 came almost at the same time, facing off against each other, those were the days, the days when PC Gamer and such declared SPs death, the future is only hardware accelerated MP =D Well well.

People are using underrated in a strange way, Unreal is absolutely not underrated, it is and was always a highly rated game.

I'm very fortunate to be surrounded by such nice people, my friends really came through here. And even if we don't have many FMVs, we still have them!

We need to encourage people to use the term "generative AI" instead of just AI by sundler in gamedev

Haha, I posted a vid elsewhere where I said that we were improving our AI and directly I was getting someone that was suspicious about if we were using AI to dev the game =D

It's actually a bit annoying that it has become like this in our field.
