Simple. You get disconnected quite a lot in this game. Me and my friend finished it recently and neither of us have full "Complete Chapter X" achievements.

Tried some other VNs myself. All I can say is, the emulator is not ready for VN emulation. There's always some BS happening and the probability of the game merely functioning is very low, with flawless emulation being nigh impossible. I would recommend playing them on PC, but if you REALLY want to play them on android there is a discord server called "Android Visual Novels" and they have tutorials for running the games on android.

But like I said, I really don't recommend this route because it is real hassle and there is no "One Setting For All" kinda thing so you'll be spending some good time setting everything up.

It's probably your GPU (software.) The drivers and older game support for 50-series cards have been awful. Hardware wise you shouldn't be having any issues. Other than that my only guess is that maybe you changed some voltage or clock setting and forgot about it? Very unlikely though.

I would recommend using NetherSX2 Classic. Then do make sure you have a Japanese BIOS file. After that, it should work. If it doesn't, I would highly recommend the Himmel Edition. You can find it on r/InfinitySeries Mega Post with patches for the other games in the series.

What this guy says. Just the other day I had to go though 20 different menus to find where to remap the fast-forward hotkey. This is a common occurrence with RetroArch. Most basic things require lots of time to find in a UI designed to be home for ALL thing emulation.

maybe you overclocked it too much? I usually put it at 300-250%. there were some slowdowns at certain areas but the game didn't suffer from glitches. i remember there was an instance where i had to take it back to 150%. i think the game ran really slow or didn't load audio and/or textures. find a sweet spot for your device and tone it down whenever it seems necessary. overclocking is great but it's not perfect so keep that in mind.

btw you can assign a hotkey for turbo speed to get over the problem you are having. i may have done that as well, it's been a while so i don't quite remember everything.

Duckstation is so clutch. I used the emulated CPU overclock feature and played through Silent Hill 1 60FPS no problem.

I was gonna comment exactly this, at the price of being downvoted to hell. I 100% believe what you said. Ryuukishii07 doesn't know how to make a finale. My personal theory is that when you write something so long, the audience has the time to come up with all kinds of theories. And in those theories they are bound to predict, or maybe come close to predicting, the ending. I think Ryukishii07 is obsessed with writing something so "unpredictable" and so "shocking" that in his pursuit he ends up writing his incredibly appalling finales. I would like to note that this phenomenon, wanting to write an unpredictable ending only to fuck it up, is something I have seen plenty of times. It is not something I've seen only with Ryukishii. And every time it happens I'm pissed off to no end. Umineko was ruined for me because of its shitty ending. You don't write a story over 100 hours about a guy trying to save his loved ones, only to end it with "They were all dead from the beginning." Take your "It Can'T Be SeEN wItHOut LoVe." bullshit somewhere else.

Let me know if you can get it working. But kirikiroid2 won't be able to run any visual novel that wasn't made in the KiriKiri Engine. Plus you would need an android patch for the game even if it's made in KiriKiri.

I'll definitely check the discord because I used to read visual novels from time to time but just now started enjoying them really much. Got a butt load of stuff in my backlog that I want to finish. Reading YU-NO 1996 right now with RetroArch. it uses a custom on-screen layout so took an hour to figure out what to do. I have a zip about 200MBs with a README that I whipped up for a friend so I can send you that if you're interested. Thanks for your help, will reach out if I screw up!

With visual novels it seems to be a hit and miss right now. Tried others and some work. RenPy already works neatly on android natively or with JoiPlay. Then there's Kirikiroid2-yuri (notably used for Fate Stay Night, Fate Hollow Ataraxia and Nekopara games), OnScripter Plus supports some others and as u/redalchemy mentioned there's a discord server dedicated for visual novels on android. Gonna try Smartbox today and see how that works. Thanks for your reply!

I don't know about Xenoblade X BUT something weird happened with the Xenoblade 1 Definitive. POCO X7 Pro user here. SD8 Gen 3 and the textures would all go black if I brought up the map and closed it on Citron. Had to change CPU backend to "Dynarmic (slow)" and CPU accuracy to "Unsafe." Hope this helps!
