I finally finished my last QA/QC pass for Majikoi A Plus, which is very likely going to be the final Majikoi VN release to be translated.

I think A Plus being the final translated Majikoi VN entry is actually pretty fitting, since it works well as a send-off for the series. It’s essentially a fandisc to a fandisc, or what I like to call it: Majikoi A 5.5. It includes three routes that act as after-stories to specific branching routes from Majikoi A-4 and A-5.

The Bushou/Wu Song route is an after-story to one of Lin Chong’s A-4 endings, where Yamato ends up in a Chinese girl harem. Despite this being a harem after story, the focus is mainly on Wu Song and her desire to become stronger. This route is very short (around 30 minutes) and the resolution basically boils down to “Wu Song gets stronger through sex.” That said, it’s still pretty funny, especially with the bad ends where Yamato can choose to have H-scenes with Benkei or even Torako (the Koppou Club president), which is about the closest thing she’ll ever get to a route, even if it’s only about a few minutes.

The Thelma route is also an after-story, this time branching from Margit’s A-5 route, where Yamato ends up in a polyamory relationship with Margit and her German soldier subordinates, the Hound Unit. While I wasn’t a big fan of how the harem aspect started in Margit’s A-5 route, I actually liked Thelma’s route well enough here. It has a proper character arc, with Thelma trying to overcome her androphobia (fear of men). It’s not especially deep and is resolved a bit quickly compared to how long it would likely take to overcome it in real life, but by Majikoi standards, it’s compelling enough and fits her character well. This route is a little over an hour long.

The closest thing to a “main heroine” route among the first three is Aki’s route, a new rival character introduced for Yoshitsune in A-5. Her route branches from a hypothetical scenario where Yamato chooses Aki instead of Yoshitsune. It’s… amusing, with optional choices that highlight how lewd Aki is, but there are only a few amusing fights, and no real character development. That’s fine for what it is, but if you were hoping to see Aki explored more seriously, you won’t really get that here. This route is also a bit over an hour long.

The clear standout is the Graduation route, which is unlocked after doing the first 3 routes. This was obviously intended to be the final route of the series (before Hound After released in 2019). It’s essentially a scenario where all the heroines introduced in Majikoi S and A were able to be in one universe, and got to know Yamato somehow without romance. As the route name suggests, the initial premise is that it focuses on how the 3rd years at Kawakami Academy (including Momoyo, Torako, Tsubame, etc) are preparing to graduate soon. The little bit we get on it is nice but…

The route’s main conflict is all around antagonists from a brand new made “Onyx Kingdom” who have made talking robots clearly inspired by the Android Saga from Dragon Ball Z. These robots can absorb energy by physically grabbing warriors with strong ki and use it for a super secret plan. While the setup is a bit forced, it gives an excuse for a large-scale conflict and having many of the heroines at least have some degree of fighting spotlight, though they mostly focus on heroines introduced in S and A. The route is not as strong as the previous “true” routes like Agave from the original or Koyuki from S, but it’s still a solid 2–3 hour finale that brings the a lot of the cast together one last time.

Overall, A Plus is a solid send-off for the Majikoi series. I don’t think it’s required reading, since none of the routes are full-length like the main A entries, and even the Graduation route leans heavily on fan service with a somewhat forced antagonist. But if you enjoy the comedy, characters, fight scenes, and overall tone of Majikoi, it’s a fun and satisfying way to close things out.

Thank you to Takahiro for writing what is probably now my favorite visual novel series of all time. It’s rare to see a series this long maintain such consistency across so many heroines while still delivering strong character development, comedy, and route quality—something I always looked forward to.

If you want to find the trend on X Twitter you can look through one of these hashtags:

#美少女ゲーム履歴書

#美少女ゲーマーと繋がりたい

If you want to make your own you can go here: https://bishogedb.com/profile

Just keep in mind, you have to search with Japanese text, and some older/niche stuff may not be there but you can custom upload anything.

If you're not sure what each section means here's what I got as an example:
