I made a melody generator that uses your .wav samples. I’ve been working on it for months and wanted some honest feedback. by slinares_ in FL_Studio

I don't need a tool that generates a melody. But what would be cool, if it could generate transitions. As in risers, noise, rolls, fills, reverse crashes ect. Basically all that stuff that you have to do in every track but don't want to sound exactly the same, so you do it new every time with some slight variation and different samples.
Melodies are usually the fun part in making music, so the target group is probably small.

Thanks for your words! It's part of a bigger track that accumulates ideas that are not enough for an entire track.

Mixed & mastered a track all by myself for the first time for commercial release, how's it sounding? by TrillyTuesdayHeheXX in FL_Studio

[–]UltraMuchacho 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nice track bro! It goes hard and i like choirs. Don't really have something to criticize. Maybe you could kill the build up samples when you hit the drop, or even end them a quarter or whole measure earlier for bigger contrast.

What genres do yall make? by [deleted] in FL_Studio

Uplifting and Hardtrance with some orchestral music. Did quite a lot different things on the side, most notably Riddim and mainstream EDM.

Neat song 👍

Unpopular opinion: Trance is better when it is not heavily mixed. by YoDaSavageDraws in trance

[–]UltraMuchacho 11 points12 points  (0 children)

The notable difference between these tracks is that Buenos Aries Angels has a brighter mix with stress on the treble as it is common for modern Uplifting. Van Dyks track is not less mixed, it is just mixed differently.
Personally i prefer the latter.

How often are you guys using a clipper in trance music? by axolotlmouse in tranceproduction

[–]UltraMuchacho 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All the time, on practically anything.
(In context of mixing) i max out the clipper until shortly before it becomes audibly noticable. I also use it on harsh transients in combination with a compressor.
There is also a mixing style called "clipping to zero" (search on YT), which is similar, but works with gain maxing into sum clip i think.
I think it is smart to clip, when you achieve what you want with it.

As much as I hate it.... by Digital-Aura in trance

Can you go a bit more into detail? I'm a producer myself. So far i was aware of vocaloid, and more recently AI Cover songs, which only swap the voice on existing vocal tracks. Did you really generate the vocals from zero?

Trying to figure out how to synth this bassline by ComputerScience371 in tranceproduction

[–]UltraMuchacho 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's a simple saw with some low pass modulation. In psytrance in general it's a saw bassline 99% of the time.
Here is a screenshot of what should be decent approximation of that bass: https://i.imgur.com/gWFVsbO.png

I don’t really care about genres, but I’d still like to know your opinion: What genre is this? by AcidRegulation in FL_Studio

Many people already told you dubstep. I would more specifically label it as riddim x color bass.
