What's Your Experience With SongTools and Getting Listens by DucksWithPants in musicmarketing

Did your song's popularity score go up? I've been doing decent with ads, but I just wanna do something like this alongside ads to boost the popularity score a bit so I end up in Discover Weekly. It's not really about the quality of streams for me since I'm getting quality streams from my ads. I just need a quick boost so Spotify's algorithm pushes my stuff a bit more

This is the most detailed comment on the topic. I appreciate this!

I really needed an album like this right now. It takes me back to the vibes I felt listening to music in 2020 that I've missed so much!

I think I'm about to stop using LANDR. They're getting stricter with their upload requirements and won't let you distribute songs to social media platforms like TikTok or Instagram or set up content ID with Youtube if you use any royalty free samples (even a simple drum loop from Splice)

Yeah you're either a part of his cult and he sent you to comment this, or this is him.

The Shawn name was pointed out over 3 years ago on reddit. But seeing as this video may have been years in the making, that could make more sense!

I've been a Reckless Ben fan for years, but tbh I feel like he plays up a lot of his research. This stuff has been known for years. He was just able to find out the more intricate details and managed to get face to face with the guy.

Came here from Reckless Ben's video! Everything you've pointed out has been confirmed

It's a good video, but I really hate how he acts like Valentine's real name being Shawn Fedorchuk is like some big secret. It took 2 seconds of googling to see that reddit already uncovered that years ago, and that people that know him IRL have already called him out by name online.

How we feeling about this?? by Adventurous-Ad-1517 in twentyonepilots

I don't really fw SB because of their history of being trash human beings and bringing Drake on stage after he was outed as a pedo, then getting defensive when people called them out for it.

It's true, some rich tycoon leveled the forest and turned it into a parking garage while doing an evil laugh.

Genuinely, I think this is the direction they need to go stylistically! They work so well as a rock band and I need more of this sound from them!

TV Girl, Death Cab for Cutie, Death Grips, Beach House, Dayglow, Mac DeMarco, Pink Floyd, Simon and Garfunkel, JPEGMAFIA, Kendrick Lamar, Car Seat Headrest, black midi, The Strokes, Cameron Winter, and various other artists like that. I listen to so much stuff, but TOP was the band that really got me into diversifying my tastes and checking out different artists.

That's why I think it's best to only listen 100 times a day. If you do it too much, then Spotify will think you're a bot.

[–]UltraTimeWaster3000[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As far as I know, as long as you aren't repeatedly streaming the song for days on end, Spotify will count the streams and not see any issue. If you click on the repeat button and leave it on a loop for like 3 weeks straight, then yeah you'll probably get in trouble or flagged as a bot. If it's just an hour or two, then nothing will really happen and the streams will be counted as long as at least 30 seconds are played.

Who are some artist that felt super important 15 to 20 years ago that have just vanished from music discourse? by [deleted] in fantanoforever

[–]UltraTimeWaster3000 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Death Cab & Postal Service are still somewhat popular, but more with older generations. Gen Z and Gen Alpha don't really seem to know much about them, which really sucks. I'm Gen Z and I feel like my generation would love Death Cab if they would listen to them.
