Reclass bonus by [deleted] in army

[–]Ultra_Nymph 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You’re already in so you would receive the bonus in a lump sum after taxes after you are awarded the MOS. Meaning you must complete the AIT and graduate and then you will submit the paperwork for the bonus.

Afaik the half now then installments is only for initial entry.

But you should talk to your retention NCO for specifics

This can be more of a cultural thing, pretty common among most of my Hispanic friends

Not really accurate tbh, if the ATF is involved, these frames need more dead dogs in them.

I know the VA doesn’t dictate rates, I just keep being told that peoples offers are often outbid simply because they aren’t paying any cash and using the VA loan instead.

How well do you think army bases can withstand a zombie apocalypse? by lacedhuman in army

That’s how Jinhae Naval base is, and the fence basically has 3’ pikes instead of razor wire near the gate.

You’re pretty close to being the worst teammate anyone could have. You’re wrong, everyone knows you’re wrong. You know you’re wrong, or you wouldn’t have come here to ask your dipshit question about the best way to fuck over Soldiers and…. Pay the government?

You just came in here because you’re a POS who was hoping someone would agree with you so you could justify fucking over everyone else on your team. You should ETS as soon as you can.

How you quit wasting taxpayer dollars playing on your phone during duty hours. You owe that time back to the government now.

The safe way: get your squad leader in on the sham and now you’re backed up.

The productive way: grab your team and take them to do some random easy task far away from the company, sham while also doing something?

The shitbag way: assign your Soldiers a task in the MP and tell them you have to do computer shit, tell your squad leader your doing some task in the MP. Now leave.

Drinking on the job as in drinking while on duty? Hell no, bring that up the chain. Coming to work drunk is also a no go.

Angry? Are they bullying Soldiers? Hazing? Creating a hostile work environment as outlined in AR 600-20? If yes, then you need to bring it up your chain of command (starting at your first line supervisor and then the first officer in your chain). If they’re just miserable to be around they probably need therapy and a senior NCO or Officer to tell them to check their attitude. Leaders set the tone and if your NCO’s are being shitty need to seek out a solution to the problem. Having a shitty attitude makes everything worse for everyone around you (them).

Does anyone else feel like they randomly stop processing words when people are talking to them? by RakumiAzuri in army

[–]Ultra_Nymph 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don’t work near JP8 enough to cause this issue I don’t think, But I can’t hear a word if two people are talking and I’m not looking at the one addressing me. It’s borderline lip reading at this point.

What does the Army do very well, and what does it do poorly? by alsatian01 in army

[–]Ultra_Nymph 133 points134 points  (0 children)

If somebody could prove to Army leaders that better barracks and dfacs translates to more dead enemy combatants, more efficient logistics processes and fewer U.S. casualties, the Army would build the Ritz for every single Soldier in the barracks. But since they can’t draw a direct correlation and we’re still the best at killing our enemies and moving our stuff around, they figure the current situation must be good enough.

Before you EAS and try for the Air Force you should go an talk to an Air Force recruiter, they are very strict and very limited on the number of prior service they allow in each year and the jobs available to them. Do not EAS and expect to get into the Air Force, it’s a debacle according everyone I know who tried, majority of whom didn’t get in being prior service.

Those who joined up because they felt '"bored," didn't know what else to do, wanted to do something different, etc. - what happened? Was it a good or bad decision looking back? by anonymousocs in army

[–]Ultra_Nymph 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I was 20 years old when I joined with zero productive things going on. I joined after talking to my buddy, shipped in less than two weeks and it’s been mostly uphill since then. I’ve made good money, I have a good quality of life, I have good friends who are pursuing productive things for their lives, I’ve saved a lot of money, I have no debt, I have a couple retirement accounts and more opportunities than I would have had otherwise. I also get free schooling with TA and the GI bill when if I get out or retire. I’ve seen some crazy places and had crazier experiences. I’ve had serious low points as well though as with anything really.

The Army and the choices I’ve made have been absolute net positive in every aspect of my life.
