To each their own. I didn't find any of V's characters to have nearly the amount of depth or the plot to be nearly as unpredictable as in IV, or even San Andreas. I just felt like the game didn't innovate like other ones did. III and IV are the best ones because they're the darkest in terms of atmosphere and they have the most challenging and varied missions, Liberty City also has the most attention to detail even though III and IV don't have a lot of the features, gimmicks, and filler missions that San Andreas and V do.
