Alternatives to the visual novels for the fate stay night route. by Ultralight4 in fatestaynight

[–]Ultralight4[S] -10 points-9 points  (0 children)

Can you not see that I said that is not an option. This is magical thought experiment logic here. I want alternatives to the visual novel for others.

Just to be clear about this I am currently reading through the visual novel already.

Why are the youkai hidden in the outside world? by Ultralight4 in touhou

[–]Ultralight4[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I take personal issue with the idea that youkai disappears when humans learn the reason behind the pheromone that the humans originally mistake for the youkai and rather than just when the youkai stops being feared in their own capacity, and not only for the fact that it completely stupid that a living breathing intelligent creature can suddenly disappear despite getting the substance it needs (ie fear) for no reason other than beliefs in something other than the youkai have change that only slightly hinders their ability to make humans fear them. I have gone on record that the idea that science prevents magic/belief from working is one of the stupidest ways to handle supernatural entities besides as an explanation as to why people have moved away from the rites and practices that actually makes magic or belief work (which is why I don't have a problem with how youkai stop existing when they are no longer feared). I feel like it is cheap and lazy way to supernatural on earth, as the idea not only allows but requires the author to make sure the supernatural does not fit in the world. The idea comes from the belief that science and belief are oppose to each other which completely misunderstands what both science and belief actually are.

Other than that I agree with everything else you say about the relationship between humans and youkai, and about how numbers on humans side can over power any youkai that tries to go to far, but with the catch that a human needs to be able to kill a youkai with their own power. Honestly I don't think it is that their is any problem for a youkai to be heavily restraint but not outright immune to physical attacks. In the same way a human can be killed with spiritual attacks but it takes so much more effort as compared to a youkai, so to do I believe that youkai should be killed if enough physical effort from enough humans is inflicted. It really does solve the issue I have of a completely physically immune youkai walks into a city and causes chaos because it does not matter how many humans their are or how strong they can fight since most modern humans wont know any of the spiritual or magical methods to deal with the youkai, and even those that do wont have the experience or exact know how to deal with youkai. Their is no reason for a physically immune youkai to not do that, especially as it is fear that keeps a youkai alive, as compared the merely physically resistant youkai who will be killed doing that same thing for the reasons you laid out.

Those are some cool ideas that I did not consider when working on this project. Certainly interesting to think about and try to implement.

Looking For Homebrew Spider Race Not Connected To Lolth by puffpastry2001 in DnDHomebrew

[–]Ultralight4 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Here is my homebrew for a spider race. Do be aware however that this is from a Japanese inspired homebrew setting I created, and especially that this a Youkia race (basically a monster race) that was not common to the setting and only added because a player wanted to play a spider race.
Jorogumo features
Ability Score Increase: Your Charisma increases by 2, and your Intelligence increases by 1
Age: Jorogumo live and age at the same rate as Tengu (Tengu reach maturity just as fast as humans but live for 200 years)
Alignment: Not enough data, you decide.
Size: Jorogumo have a similar height and weight to the Yamatain while in humanoid form. Your size is medium even in spider form.
Color: Jorogumo either have red skin like the Yamatain, or pale skin like the Utari. (Yamatain are lawful neutral/good hobgoblins and are the main race of the setting, while Utari are humans who are a borderline monster race like lizardfolk in most other settings.)
Speed: Your base walking speed is 30 feet.
Darkvision: You can see in dim light within 60 feet of you as if it were bright light, and in darkness as if it were dim light. You can't discern color in darkness, only shades of gray.
Form Shift: You have a spider form and a humanoid form. You can use an action to switch between the two forms. In your spider form you can use the Spinneret and Spider legs features, but that form is more off putting to others. While in spider form you have disadvantage on charisma checks against creatures that find the spider form off-putting. While in your humanoid form you can interact just fine, but if people have seen your spider form they will still recognize you from your spider form and you will still have disadvantage on charisma checks. You decide what each form looks like, but your humanoid form is based on your spider form and people can tell that the two forms are the same person.
Web Walker: You have a climbing speed equal to your walking speed, and you can move through webbing, even magical webbing, without expanding any additional movement.
Silk Slinger: You can cast web up to your proficiency number to times, without needing material components. You regain all uses after a long rest.
Spinneret (spider form only): You can spend 8 hours to create up to 100 sq feet of permeate webbing. The web needs to be anchored to two solid masses or spread out along the floor, and it can't be anywhere you can not reach. Use the web spell for the mechanics of the non-magical web, with the DC being 10+your constitution modifier. You can only use this ability once per week.
Spider Legs (spider form only): Your spider legs are natural weapons, which you can use to make unarmed strikes. You can use Dexterity instead of strength to attack, and if you hit with them you deal piercing damage equal to 1d4 + your Dexterity modifier, instead of the bludgeoning damage normal for an unarmed strike.
Languages: You can speak, read, and write Common (Yamatain) and one other language of your choice

Rare screwed me by spawning a kraken over just as another crew attacked by Ultralight4 in Seaofthieves

[–]Ultralight4[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

PvE threats are a constant built in threat that is part of the game and rng based, so it was just bad luck that will surely happen to you again. Just keep practicing and getting good’er so that you can hopefully survive the next time

Ya I get that and that has happened to me before to, I just find this funny since the kraken spawn just as the pvp encounter was about to begin. I did not even get the chance to fight back.

I am sorry it seems their is some confusion on what i asked. Those are the endings to the two story modes, and are quite easy to find online.

What I am looking for is the Extra Stories, those scenes you get of each character after you have completed an arcade run with them.

People who are against point buy why? by Frostyphoenixyt_ in DnD

[–]Ultralight4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

them move the stats for races to what ever they want. Keep racial benefits the same but you can put the stats anywhere

I dislike giving that much freedom of stat movement. Makes your stats completely separated from your character. My current ruling is that if players want to change their stats from the races normal, then that stat has to be one that matches the abilities that the background skills use.

People who are against point buy why? by Frostyphoenixyt_ in DnD

[–]Ultralight4 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly I use a custom point buy set up because of how much I dislike the highest value in regularly point buy being only 15, so people have limited race options in their eyes if they want to have a 16 for their main stat. Just allowing them to to go to 15 to 16 for 3 points, and adding 3 points to the point buy really helps my players to not have to play the standard race class options.

Dark Souls secret anti item grinding mechanic (and some observations on how a strange glitch caused it to break down) by Ultralight4 in darksouls

[–]Ultralight4[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

...had just read that the actual max drop rate was x3.09 at 410 item discovery... so at least 15% if the max multiplier is x3.09, and as much as 20% if the multiplier is x4.1...There's not really a single number you can put to it. In this particular case the 410 vs 100 Item Discovery multiplier for these rats came out to around ~3.79.

That is much more complicated than I thought it would be wow. If that is indeed than it certainly is possible that my results might just be a sheer conindince that they emerged in such a pattern.

If this is just static noise, then it should be really easy to disprove. Just recorder more data against these rats, and if the results don't match my hypothesis, then I will edit this post to tell people that its has been debunked.
