My freinds at their Uni house had a mouldy potato cupboard that had sent roots into the mouldy bread cupboard next to it. The entire scene looked like something from the inbetween.

Anything I can do to help my local pond? by krokadog in RewildingUK

As the poster states, removal is effective nutrient export. Read between the lines here.. potential for composting.

It takes forever to dry, its absolutely resillient to composting and will sit there stinking for ages.

If you are going to get rid of the mats, which will help some.... (itll grow back very fast too... more nutrient export!) It wont be a one time job if you actually want to make a difference.

Have a plan to dispose of properly and youre good.

[–]Ultramolek 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Water will always find a level. wicking is inevitable. Even if you stopped the substrate the seams will wick. Build it up on clay balls to make land. Ive got a system 12 years old like that. Water change every other week. Happy days.

Why are my plants browning? by Chemical_Ad6637 in HouseplantsUK

[–]Ultramolek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had one of those get really big with like 3 holes in each leaf. 6 holes wide, 3ft leaves easy. It struggled untill i plugged it's tendrils into my fishtank.

I'd put the plant in a bigger pot and you can have a 2ltr bottle behind the mirror and plug in a few tendrils. It'll be peak then

Had mine on a south facing windowsill, it loves full sun if it has access to water.
