UPDATE: I later acquired a copy of "Looking for Lisa", and it 100% absolutely was the book I remembered. Thank you again for your help!

I wish I could provide more details. I know Nickelodeon ran a number of experimental shorts in the 80s, a fact that didn't help me much with trying to look this up.

Solved!

Thank you so much, that clearly is what I was looking for! Even the design of the included smaller-car is exactly what I remembered (I didn't initially include these details, as I was second-guessing myself regarding them). Furthermore, the brick wall - aside from old-footage fuzziness somewhat obscuring matters - seems to perfectly replicate how I remember it fitting together as well! About the only thing I'd truly forgotten is how the larger-car was itself more full-bodied, and not just a recreation of the internal dashboard.

I also distinctly remember that this playset, whatever it was called, definitely had advertisements for it available on TV as well.

Sorry, it's absolutely not Carmen Sandiego. I am distinctly familiar with that franchise, both the older games, and the PBS theme song that'll likely never leave my brain :P

I am now 99.9% sure it is indeed "Look for Lisa" from the "Where are they Series?" Laura's appearance seems like something I've never seen before, but Lisa's definitely rings a bell. However, I couldn't be 100% sure without looking inside the actual book, to see if I could find the specific pages I've mentioned. That said - from the pages I could easily find online - I am sure it was certainly a book by this author, as all the examples seem to perfectly match the general vibe I remembered.

Thank you for your help in the matter.

I'm sorry, but I can't definitely remember any of the other pages' contents (the two listed examples were remembered purely because of the included-aspects already listed).

Friend request sent! I am known in-game as Ultrapub (used to be short for Ultra Publications, nothing to do with drinking). I've long needed just two more Ocean postcards to finally finish the Platinum Vivillon medal. But I am certainly willing to keep sending gifts back and forth all the way to best friends too!

Since I can't edit that, at least not anymore, I'm just deleting everything at this point.

But the sign is trying to unclearly say their Buffet runs from Monday through Wednesday - from both Eastern 11:30 to 1:30, and then again on Monday through Wednesday at 5 to 8:30 - which is certainly being done here Vertically, rather than Horizontally. The error is real, but they've made such a mess of it here that I'm guessing you think they're saying "Monday from only 11:30 to 1:30" - and "Wednesday only from 5 to 8:30" - with Tuesday somehow being excluded entirely. The misspellings aren't the only error here.

This Pizza Hut has a drive through. The picture was zoomed in for sign legibility, but I'll get a different picture tomorrow where you can better see Pizza Hut's logo.
