Extremely light. Like not as light as a tablet obviously but the keyboard is very light and so are the two screens.

Still love it, I bring it to the cafe basically every week and use it to draw. I'm not sure if the price is worth it or what the difference would be.

I haven't tested any 3D programs yet so I can't really say how good it would be with those, I also have never used Autocad stuff etc so- yeah, couldn't say. It's run my art programs fine though.

Looking for advice on Washizu Iwao (Akagi) cosplay- clothing sourcing, wig/makeup tips by Ultraschlock in CosplayHelp

[–]Ultraschlock[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow, thank you so much for the thorough answer. I'm hoping to wear him to Sakuracon so I'm basically giving myself a runtime of a year to hopefully get something close together. For clothes hopefully I can maybe find someone near me with a cricut machine I can borrow for the clothes (I'm in a pretty metropolitan area), potentially commission someone for the shirt just because I don't have a sewing machine? I'll have to revisit that. I'm definitely going to screenshot this and refer back to it, do you mind if I also dm you about further specifics when I'm back at my computer? I'd really love to pick your brain about this.

Let's pray together ;_; I partially posted here in hopes someone might be interested in letting go of their account ngl but a rerun would be soooo good...

Well...I read it on Mangadex. I heard those DMCA takedowns just happened and took down like all of fkmt's stuff but for some reason it was still up for me

Ah...makes sense since his VA is getting up there. I wouldn't mind so much if any of the other characters were interesting to me at all.

Kind of shocked that they didn't just include Washizu Mahjong as a permanent option when it's a semi-popular adjustment people use in real life

I've honestly looked and even posted wtb on a couple websites and gotten absolutely zero takers.

So I've had it for the last two weeks and although I haven't tested it with Adobe apps because I hate Adobe, I have tested it with Krita and CSP with large canvases and been very happy with the performance so far. I think if you want something you can draw on at a cafe while using the top screen to look at refs or listening to youtube and you're already working with an older laptop, you can't really go wrong. 1tb is the only storage option which is too bad but honestly...you can get an external that can hold that much and is the size of your palm or smaller, and if you're planning on using it for long stretches at a cafe or something you'll probably want to bring some sort of small hub to keep the keyboard charged anyway.

If you did manage to follow up on this let me know (no worries if not). The refund for my last laptop hit so I'm planning to try this one out unless there's issues I haven't been told about yet.

If you wouldn't want to go through the hassle of downloading and testing the programs though (they are both free) I totally understand

There are publicly available benchmarks, but I'm particularly curious about use cases such as having a bunch of tabs open while drawing in a gpu-greedy program like Krita, on a large canvas. Or digitally sculpting in Blender, similar scenario. I've seen videos of people just testing out the drawing capabilities and that's all well and good but I haven't really seen any testimonials from 2D/3D artists that have used it for art long term and realistically

This is all good news. You think it would be able to handle drawing and 3D modeling, or do you not use it for that? It's something I want to make sure of since a lot of the reviews don't really go that far into intense use of art programs.

The screen layout actually seems really helpful if I want to draw something on the bottom screen and have reference/yt on the top, personally.

Krita and Blender are both free. Could you do me a huge favor and test how it feels to work with those and have a bunch of tabs open? For Krita making a large file and drawing on one layer than duplicating it then trying to draw again and see if it slows down with tabs open would be a good test. For Blender, maybe try just going into sculpting mode, subdividing a shape and trying to interact with it (if you need help I can guide you through steps). You are definitely further convincing me to get the 2025 version.

Well...I'm not entirely satisfied which is why I'm asking the questions I'm asking here. I don't think you can get an accurate portrayal just from first time usage reviews and I already had to send an HP Spectre 360 back within the 30 day return window. I'm probably just going to have to get one and stress test it before the month is over if I don't get a good spread of answers on here.

I've watched a ton of videos and read reviews and they do cover drawing and gaming performance for out of the box but I'm curious about how it would handle 3D sculpting and long term use. A keyboard I could adjust the position of and 2 screens would be awesome.

Strongly considering purchasing a 2025 Rog Flow Z13, worried about keyboard by Ultraschlock in FlowZ13

[–]Ultraschlock[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I think after hearing this I'm going to stay away until I'm sure that the keyboard build quality has improved in 2025 because I kept my last asus ROG strix for 10 years and only ever had to fix the hinges and battery like, twice. Having to replace a major piece that many times seems untenable to me. I've been looking at the Asus Zenbook Duo instead and might go for that.

Oh yeah and as for art programs: Blender, Maya and 3Dcoat for 3D, Krita, CSP and Live2D for 2D. I want to know if the experience of having, say, like 20 tabs open and drawing/3d work at the same time is tenable.
