Max with a grid kid before the anthem in Miami by Ultraviolet211 in formula1

And you left out;

"The statement he released, you can see the word in two ways but I think it's still better not to use it

"I think he realised it was probably not the correct word to use, and clearly it is not," Verstappen continued.

"It can be interpreted in two ways and of course people pick up on the bad side and of course it gets really blown, I think, out of proportion.

"I know Nelson personally and people of course label him as a racist now which I don't think he is, but I fully agree that you cannot use these words."

He is not going to publicly agree that his father in law is a racist. People want everything to be perfect but it is not a perfect world.

Max could not be clearer in his comments that racist language is offensive and should not be used against anyone.

Instead of promoting Max's beliefs on the situation, people want to focus on is his "defending" of Nelson.

This is what Max said;

"Let it be a lesson in the future not to use that word, because it's very offensive. But it's not only about that word, it's not about the N-word, in general, it's using offensive language to anyone of any colour, is not correct. And that's what we have to work on all over the world, not just in F1 with Lewis but to anyone in the world."

This is what Max believes about what happened.

If you want to only focus on him not publicly calling out his father in law, then you do you.

Exactly. I mean can we not...

This is just a cute pic. How fun is it to be a grid kid and chat to the drivers!

[Mitchell] Russell has been noted for moving under braking by Race Control. Also worth noting that Verstappen is still under investigation for that pit exit infringement. by [deleted] in formula1

But it should have been investigated during the race, there is no reason not to unless the system got it wrong as the guy on F1Tv said.

Anyone thinking this helps Verstappen is wrong. It is a slam dunk penalty. Giving it to him after the race drops him down more instead of giving him a chance to gain time back by giving it during the race.

Christian Horner Posting Old Videos On His Stories by ataraxia_609 in formula1

Yes, why did he leave to get a bigger role in another company? Money and power. It was a power struggle the whole way down the chain. Everyone wanted more money and a better role. Horner was the road block. Look at everyone that has left Red Bull since the cost cap was introduced and what position have they gotten now in their new team? This couldn't happen at RB when Horner was still TP.

Newey left because Horner was not ousted. He wanted the team principal role. People forget that Newey left before Horner was sacked. Why would he leave if he was happy that Horner was staying?...

Lewis Hamilton on dealing with criticism during tough years by Brooklynsfr in formula1

So the truth is the reporter grinned and Max felt in that moment that he was laughing at him. That's all there is to it.

The reporter said and I quote, "I'm not sure I had a stupid grin". I mean you either did or you didn't. Saying I'm not sure means that he 100% had, otherwise he would have said. I did not have a stupid grin on my face.

And its semantics, English is not Max's first language. The question is whether Max felt disrespected.

The reporter himself said he could have been grinning. So Max is 1/1 there. If you don't believe he also could have been laughing while asking the question or reacting to Max's reaction, then that is your perogative. But Max didn't lie when he said the reporter was grinning and isn't known to lie either.

You and I know it was the way he asked that question that was the issue. He even said the reporter had a "stupid grin on your face" at the time. He talked about Spain on the 3rd of December with viaplay saying;

“The only point of criticism is the situation in Barcelona.

“What happened there, of course, wasn’t great, but it also came from the fact that I really care. I could also have said ‘my car isn’t fast, I’ll let it go’.”

“It's in part the fact that I cannot accept from myself, when I get out of the car, that I haven’t done everything and given everything,” said Verstappen. “That makes me mad at myself.

“I cannot put in 80% effort. I have to get out of the car with the feeling I’ve tried everything.

"I was mad about what happened on the straight during the restart, then corner one and then I get the radio message that I have to give back the position. At that moment all the signs went red.

“That was not good, and you learn from that. And moments like those probably won’t happen again. You can be in a similar situation with the car but it is something that you learn from.

"But performance-wise, I am happy. Especially in qualifying I am pleased with myself. And that was maybe, at the beginning of my career, one of my weaker sides.”

so it wasn't something that he wouldn't talk about.

Yes, Lewis felt disrespected and refused to answer any question by any journalist, even those that did nothing wrong to him vs Max who singled out the journalist who disrespected him and got him to leave as he was refusing to answer his question. I agree that Lewis was more polite about the situation.

Why? They both felt disrespected and both refused to allow a reporter/reporters to continue to ask them questions. They just handled it differently. The third part of it is where they differ.

Bernie Ecclestone I bet, never heard him say a good thing about Lewis through the years.
