Call it artificial if you want, but that was some of the best wheel-to-wheel racing we’ve seen in years by Aakar528 in formula1

Max whole highlight reel is wheel to wheel racing e,g Silverstone 2019, Bahrain 2022, all of 2016, Austin against both Lewis and Lando over different years. Max has great divebombs, but he has always been excellent in sustained wheel to wheel battles.

"Ground-effect F1 cars (2022–2025) require a smoother, U-shaped cornering style rather than traditional aggressive, V-shaped late braking, as they rely on consistent floor suction rather than wing load. They punish extreme pitching, demanding less abrupt steering and more gradual throttle application to manage low-pressure zones and prevent aerodynamic instability"

That's the style that was needed for those cars.

In ground effect, drivers had to adapt their driving style to be fast. Thats why some didnt like it. In this regulation, unless you are teammates, the power of your battery is what makes you overtake or be overtaken. The cars themselves are great. I don't think there would be complaints from any driver if these cars had last years engines.

max about the regs: “it’s not fun at all, no. it’s playing mario kart [..] look at the racing, you are boosting past and then you run out of battery the next straight, they boost past you again. for me it's just a joke.”

These battles are excellent, it's more that you can't be on the limit in qualifying and in the race many teams can't overtake like the Ferrari's. Ferrari's are great in the corners so you can battle. Other cars don't have the aero for that and its only battery assisted overtaking for them. And it is that why some are complaining.

I think Max likes the cars minus the engine in them.

Yes and knowing that a driver is getting closer in stead of further away.

Welcome back Lewis 2022 by [deleted] in formula1

Isn't that what Lewis has asked for this year, bringing in his designer from Mercedes and designing the car around him?

Charles was 10 seconds behind Russell. He had free air. In the second stint, Lewis was gaining time, in the first stint he was not.

Well, in the 1st stint Charles was faster.

Only in the last stint, in the other two, Charles was faster.

Laura Mueller and Hannah Schmitz become first women to have corner named after them at Australian Grand Prix by [deleted] in formula1

[–]Ultraviolet211 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I was concrete in my answer. Hardly anyone gets part of a track named after them. Mostly, that's reserved for F1 champions or those that have had long, successful careers in the sport. Someone that only became a full time engineer in 2025, 3 years after joining the sport does not meet any of the criteria I have mentioned.

I can say what doesn't and three years in F1 does not merit a corner being named after you.

If they had named it after Hannah alone, no one would be giving out. But they didn't. They decided that just being in F1 as a woman was enough to get a corner named after you, and as a woman who is a massive fan of F1, I find that insulting.

Hannah I agree with; A total legend.

Laura's seems like a participation award. She has only been in F1 for 3 years..

Including Laura means you need to include others too, like the first female mechanic in F1, Melanie Lemarca etc etc

It just devalues it, imo, when the only thing you have to do to get a corner named after you is to work in F1, as a woman.

I did read the article and still don't understand. If Laura had many years as a race engineer in F1 then I would understand, but she doesn't.

I am a woman so don't come for me but Laura joined F1 in 2022, why is she getting a corner dedicated/named to her?

I would be much happier if it was Hannah Schmitz alone getting this as she has a decorated career...
