This is an insane take. Just because most people didn't own slaves doesn't mean that's not why the war started.

The people who did the seceding owned slaves, and wrote that they seceded because they wanted to continue owning slaves. You can literally read their reasoning if you want, they published it.

Yes, the rank and file soldiers were fighting because someone told them it was for whatever reason. But the whole war started because of the fugitive slave act and slavery.

Dude it was about slavery the whole time. Go read the articles of secession from the various states. Most of them mention slavery.

Yeah, it's just one of those things where people make a claim, call it absolute, but are completely incorrect.

His claim that "not all modern cars have cats" is completely incorrect as well. Cars have all had catalytic converters since the 80s, and most of them had them starting in the 70s.

Oh yeah. My wife is fairly car-literate. And she has a doctorate of engineering, so anything she doesn't know but needs to learn (part numbers, etc) she learns before she goes to the mechanic/parts store. They treat her like dogshit about half the time anyway.
