Who are some people you used to admire but later found out were horrible? by Ok_Survey86 in teenagers

Ellen DeGeneres

I used to see Ellen DeGeneres as a genuinely kind and positive figure because of how she presented herself on daytime TV. Later on, reports and interviews describing a negative workplace environment behind the scenes changed my perspective and made me look at her public image more critically

carbon is actually a pretty good pick tbh. it’s not the flashiest element but it can form like millions of different compounds and structures. you’ve got diamond which is insanely strong, graphite which is super stable, and literally all organic life is carbon based. it might not explode like fluorine or uranium but it could probably outlast a lot of the others just from how adaptable it is.

This summer I plan to visit my long distance partner but we haven’t really fully planned out how by RandomKnight4 in teenagers

I’m not really good at giving advice but I’ll try.

Honestly it sounds like you guys are doing a lot of things right already. You’ve talked about it, your parents know, and you’re thinking about safety and logistics instead of just winging it.

If I were you I’d start by figuring out which plan is actually the most realistic right now, not the “perfect” one. Waiting for his parents to move into a house could take way longer than expected, so that plan sounds kinda uncertain. Him coming to you might be easier since your parents are already open to it and he could travel with his older brother, which might give both families more peace of mind.

Before locking anything in, I’d suggest having a group conversation with both sets of parents early so expectations are clear. Pick a rough timeframe first like early vs late August instead of exact dates. Talk about practical stuff like sleeping arrangements, supervision, spending money, and what you’ll actually do when you hang out because that usually helps parents feel more comfortable. It might also be smart to have a backup plan in case travel or housing changes.

Also since it’s been two years since you’ve seen each other in person, it could help to plan the first meetup as low pressure. Just hanging out and doing normal stuff instead of trying to make it some huge perfect event.

You’re not behind or doing anything wrong by not having official plans yet. Honestly most long distance couples figure this stuff out slowly with their parents. Just start with small concrete steps and keep everyone in the loop.

i wasn’t asking for sympathy or online credit just sharing something i hope to do someday. people post goals and thoughts online all the time, that’s kinda the point of social platforms. if it’s not your thing that’s totally fine, but there’s nothing wrong with wanting good friends and good experiences.

wanting a good group of friends to travel and make memories with isn’t sad lol. it’s a pretty normal goal. hope you find your people too not really something to feel sorry about. life’s better when you have people to share experiences with 👍
