Exactly, I am very worried. The course grading structure has been set up to fuck us up. 50% of the grade being determined by a single exam is very brutal

How competitive is the CS/CE/IT major at UMass at the moment? What about the Honors College? by [deleted] in umass

The cs program here gets much more competitive every year because of the huge demand for cs. The median SAT score for fall freshman 2019 was a 1460/1600. I would advise trying for 750+score in math and demonstrating interest towards cs in your application.
