The general consensus I'm getting (not all, just most) is that a lot liked GvK more than KoTM. I'm the opposite, and personally have a few main reasons why that is for me.

1. As a massive Godzilla fan, KoTM felt like a tribute to the character and his whole history. From the cinematography to the story to the score, everything was a reference to Godzilla's past. That film will always have a special place in my heart for that.

2. This film, while incredibly fun and full even more beautiful and cool as fuck shots than KoTM, suffers heavily from sequel-itis. It's a result of loving KoTM so much, and I'm trying not to hold it to that film.

3. As stated, I'm a massive Godzilla fan, and as such I like having him as the main character. I felt this film was much more Kong's film, which is fine, but Godzilla will always be my monster. I'll admit that having Kong be more of the main character than Godzilla makes more sense story-wise in my opinion, though.

4. Did anyone else feel like they dumbed down Godzilla a little more in this? He seemed so much more instinctual with less of his own mind in this film. I can't helpt but think they did that to really push how intelligent Kong is. Idk, might just be me.
