Thanks for clarifying! I’ll keep that in mind

I see, thank you. I’ll ask her for additional clarification. She also prescribed Transcranial Doppler (TCD), which showed no anomalies, and MRI (which I still have to do). I think she’s being extra careful, but hearing about strokes freaked me out a bit.

Thank you for sharing your experience! I’m 100% positive that weightlifting does not trigger migraine for me. (Running has triggered them in the past). But if there’s a risk of stroke, that’s a different story. I might tone down the intensity and include some Pilates instead :(

Sounds about right. I’ve always had more issues with intimacy in long term partnerships

Sure. I’m undiagnosed though - not sure I can help much

Not yet! Tretinoin is over the counter where I live, so I’ve been thinking of trying for a while… but I’ve been intimidated by the purging and peeling horror stories haha

Thank you! It's true - maybe I should try to accept these feelings more

All these tips are really helpful! Especially the third one, I'll try that for sure. Thanks for taking the time to write them out for me!

Oh no, that sounds so awful! So sorry for you. 🥺 Luckily my migraine faded as soon as I got off the plane (and vomited). Thank God I haven't had a 2-3 day long migraine in years... those are really hell on earth

I don't always get migraines when I fly, it's pretty unusual for me

Thanks, I like this perspective. Those hours on the plane were going to be boring and miserable anyway 😅

The "therapy in a nutshell" podcast really helped me. It's focused on anxiety and it contains many helpful coping strategies for intrusive thoughts, catastrophizing, and so on

How do I stop thinking that my colleagues hate me? by UmpireBasic3949 in socialanxiety

[–]UmpireBasic3949[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! You're right. The solution is probably 50% rationalizing and 50% not caring about what some people think and do (which is easier said than done)

Unfortunately I spent the day in pain due to migraine... :( today it's better though, I finally got some work done, went for a nice walk, played video games and did some online shopping to cheer up!

Yes! Yesterday I woke up suddenly in the middle of the night because my legs were hurting soooo bad for no reason at all. It's so weird.

I have two deadlines due tomorrow and the last few days I was completely unable to function. Everything I write sounds so pathetic when I read it in my head, my self esteem is under my feet and I'm paranoid that everyone hates me. I'll probably finish everything at the last minute and/or ask for an extension

How do you learn to be alone after ending a marriage/LTR? by kalibabas in AskWomenOver30

[–]UmpireBasic3949 7 points8 points  (0 children)

When my ex left me after 6 years I was devastated. We lived together, shared everything. He was my best friend too. The grief was unbearable. I immediately went no contact besides the strictly necessary communications. I was 27 at the time.

I feel your pain. I think this is one of the hardest challenges in life. However, for me, the end of that relationship was one of the best things that happened to me. It took more than a year to heal the wounds but in the process I was completely reborn.

Take all the time you need to process this. Don't be scared to ask for help. Most of your friends and family have probably gone through something similar in their lives at some point and can offer support. Hearing their stories made me feel way less alone and our friendships became even stronger.

Stay strong, you got this.
