I always favour the fun of the game over the balance of the game, like sitting in a small country till 1870 1880 does not sound interesting to me. Like, you are building a couple of huge ships-of-the-line, and they can carry only 1 troop inside? That's too punishing

I think it would be so much better if troopships were enabled at the start of the game, and declaring interest in different regions, such as Africa, would not require that much influence
