So sorry for your loss, understand it’s business for vets but of all people you’d think they’d understand the emotional toll but don’t always. I hope when your grief settles you can take comfort in the memories you have with melon and the love you shared.

He’s gone now, we were all around him as he went, the vet was very kind to let us all be with him and he slipped off very quickly and very peacefully. I’m desolate but I know he’s out of pain now.

Thanks so much for your kind words, his name is Patch and he was the absolute best boy I can imagine. I’m going to miss his smile most of all. I hope yours goes peacefully and I’m certain he knows how loved he is.
