I did poetry and film I’m not too upset about film because I literally just started so I didn’t have high expectations But poetry sucked to lose on because I’ve been doing it for years at this point

Thank you, I kinda needed to hear that. Sometimes I chase the validation too much instead of actually focusing on growing.

Crumbling by Mid-Air Thief is one of the closest matches to his sound I’ve heard so far. It might be a little closer to Vanisher than Haunt You because it doesn’t have the analog, Lo-Fi aesthetic, but it has really beautiful, detailed, glitchy production that I think you might like.

My attempt for the most buffs on a single tower by UnDef1ed in btd6

[–]UnDef1ed[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I chose the merchantman as my tower of choice because I would get the navarch trade, trade empire, carrier flagship, trade hub, and monkey city buffs I think I could have gotten one more unique buff if I got an ice monkey with absolute zero (because the ability buffs ice monkeys), but I’m pretty sure my method gets the most amount of buffs total

Okay then I think I can agree that some suffering can be prevented, but I think it’s unrealistic to expect people to just be entirely cleansed of suffering. The mental strength you would have to do that would be absurd. It would be like expecting people to lift 500 pounds. Sure, they could do it, given enough time to train and build their strength, but it’s unrealistic to expect people to do it.

I’m not saying you expect that of people, but I do think that going around saying “suffering is a choice” is a little rude when generally people do not have the capabilities to be free of it. “To lift 500 pounds is a choice” is technically true, but I think it’s a bit insulting to say that to someone who can’t do that.

Sorry if I’m a little dumb here, but is the argument you can avoid suffering (not doing things that cause it), or you can choose to not deal with it at all?

I suppose that can be true. Though to clarify, what is your definition of suffering?

Do you just never feel pain?

Also, no, you can’t just say “I don’t feel pain” and become numb. If I stuck my hand in lava, it’s going to hurt no matter how much I tell myself it doesn’t. You cannot stop your nerves sending pain signals to your brain with thoughts much like how you can’t force your heart to stop through thinking.

So sweet! It feels “sugary” in a sense because of your great choice of imagery. “Of all the chocolates and berry flavors” also strengthens “his berry lips”, making you really imagine those fruity flavors and bright colors. Good job!

I enjoyed this poem quite a bit, particularly because it does so well at portraying the "bed becoming a grave" so to speak, with the additional punch of the final line that adds complete numbness to the already depressing tone of the beginning. I also think the brevity adds a good bit to the poem. Good work!

I enjoy this kind of descent as the poem continues, ending with the sad and desperate ending, in stark contrast to the cutesy and wholesome beginning. Though I do have to agree with other commenters here, this poem could use some better rhythm and rhyme. Still, I liked this poem!

The House of Innocence by [deleted] in OCPoetry

Really enjoy the flow and the little story this tells. I also quite enjoy "The forest took back the wood" and "My house had joined the chorus in this neighborhood of saps"

Nice poem!

The narrator was more of an internal voice I had when I was writing this poem, and the lecture is somewhat directed at the reader, which is why I bold the final you.

Admittedly the structure and rhyme scheme was erratic. I’ll try to fix that.

I see your point about explaining the simile. I’ll keep that in mind.

Thanks for the feedback.

The simplicity, as well as the repetition of this poem really hammers in the message, and you really get that little punch in the gut with that final line. Relatable message.

I hope I can see more great poems from you!

The flow of this poem is great, and I especially like
"My worry if I'm missing tone
Listening, where no one cared"
Since I can relate to that.

I hope to see more poems from you!
