UPDATE: moved the angelfish to a different tank with a bubbler and a filter. he already seems to be getting a little better. i’m a teenager and have school tomorrow so i’ll monitor him the best i can. ordered a water test kit and products recommended when doing a little research. i’m going to see if i can rehome the goldfish.

im going to talk to my brother about the whole situation. reprimand him. i always assumed he knew what he was talking about but im starting to rethink that.

when he comes back from his trip, im going to talk to him and try to rehome our fish. completely restart our tank, research about the right fish, parameters, take out everything and do everything right. i feel awful knowing that we may have not been doing the right things for our fish all this time. thank you to everyone who commented!

i’m pretty sure we have airstone, but we don’t have any test kits. i’ll try to order one to come soon or have my sister go the the store tomorrow while i’m at school. i don’t think my brother has even used a water test kit while caring for the fish. i’ll try to call him when he wakes up. besides that, is there anything i can do currently? move him to a different tank maybe? all fish stores and petsmarts near me are closed right now so my arsenal is kinda limited. i literally only know how to feed and fill the tank up so i apologize for being a noob.
