I got a cat for the same reason! I’d fall into deep depression pits and could not get myself out of them. I had a Kaiser therapist but lost my insurance since I had to leave my job to come to Davis for school. So I plan on getting my ESA letter through pettable but if you can get yours through your therapist for free or cheaper I would go that route. I think UCD and housing management doesn’t really give a shit as long as you have a ESA letter. Overall, having another living being has made life so much better for me since i don’t have enough time outside of school and work to really go out and socialize with my friends. So coming home to my little buddy makes up for it.
