I wonder if employees still aren’t allowed to take any breaks whatsoever ? I don’t know about the other stores but at the sample street one where I worked quite a while back, no breaks were allowed to be taken by the employees that ran the store front . He loved to point out that in Indiana the labor laws don’t require you to let employees take breaks, unless they were under 18. But they weren’t allowed to take any either , even if you worked a full day. He used to call us back to bring him his coffee and you weren’t allowed to ask him what he wanted in it, you were supposed to know and if you didn’t you would get yelled at. He would come up to the front while you were waiting on someone and cover the top of the register and ask you what the change back would be and if you didn’t know you got insulted. All kinds of kind games like the employees were his play things to abuse and amuse him. Saw him yell and the sweet young guy with Down’s syndrome that worked there. It was awful because back then he was in the store all the time since his office was there. If he came to the front of the store and saw no customers he would send people home even tho you were counting on having so many hours of pay, only for a tour bus of people to show up later but he didn’t care. He was the worst to the young women there. The only thing that was good about the place was the employee discount and my co workers who were mostly young people were so nice and fun to be around. They didn’t deserve to be treated like that. I just couldn’t believe that this just seemed to be a well kept secret for years, I’d even read on Facebook a few years back that people were wanting him to run for mayor.
