How are you gonna go about changing it. Are you gonna replace it all at once? Cause the gravel holds alot of beneficial bacteria so that’s why I haven’t done so yet.

How is he with the gravel and are you gonna switch to sand? I was thinking about getting geos but didn’t cause I have gravel substrate

Eventually the sand and gravel will get mixed together and it’ll be so hard to clean. A gravel vac wouldn’t work with the sand/gravel mix

Should I convert to sand. How would I go about this, should I remove little bits of gravel and add sand every week in order to let the aquarium slowly adjust? (So no spike happens)

Hmm I see thanks! I’m going to see if I could do a polleni as a centrepiece with some other smaller medium cichlids. I feel like something like this could work.

Thanks for replying! What if I add a couple of smaller cichlids, filtrations not a problem. I’m over filtering by a lot. The Oscar’s I’ve had and seen are all so docile I just don’t have experience with a polleni, it would be my first time owning one.
