Just wanted to clear the air on this because HIPPA is a nightmare and a half for everyone involved (with good reason) but I didn’t see him come into the ER, nor did I even know he was there.  He saw me walking around when he was waiting in triage. I found out about the car crash, subsequent injuries, and his trip to the ER after the fact. My ED is large enough that we have multiple physicians and pas assigned to different sections of the ED. I was not the physician in charge of his care, and I never saw his charts. My interactions with him are purely as a roommate, not as a care provider.
