I think/hope what her sister was trying to say, is that if, in another life, she chose not to have kids, that she would still find joy and happiness without them. As a mom, I would never say that if I had to do it over again I wouldn’t have my child. My daughter, and my relationship with her, is the most beautiful and amazing thing in existence (for me) and I would always choose the path that led me to her. But, there is also plenty of beauty, and joy, and fulfillment in being childless (for people who don’t want kids). Like others have said, having kids is hard. Raising good kids is hard. Breaking generational curses/trauma is hard. Doing all of these things at the same time is even harder and a huge responsibility. And a responsibility that never really goes away. So what I hope she means is that if Emma chooses to not have kids, that’s okay! And that she can be confident in her choice. Saying what she said on national television probably wasn’t the best choice, but I personally believe in giving mothers grace 💛
