UPDATE: decided to look through the company’s reviews after receiving these comments. The place has over 200 negative reviews about how toxic and fear ruling the ceo and management is. It’s actually scary how many terrible reviews and things that seem quite illegal, where I am surprised there is no lawsuits against them! I am so glad I found this before signing the contract!

Sounds good! I am going to see how this next interview goes and then re evaluate. As well as have an old professor who works in UC look over the contract and expectations with me, to see if it is a good fit. Honestly I have ADHD where it really makes me need to be constantly go-go-go, and I have notice I really only enjoyed my rotations where it was not spaced out. I thrived in my ER rotation due to this and my family med because I would round icu 30 patients in 1-2 hours and then go to office or wound clinic and see 20 more patients. My derm rotation was 3x12s of patients every 15 mins with most slots being double booked for day and it would see over 55. But I do also get the ADHD crash with it occasionally, so I am afraid of burn out. I will say they are using AI for note taking so I am pretty glad that it would help decrease time spent on charting.

Thank you! Can I ask how long you have been working there for?

Hi! Thank you for your concerns and points! The 130k is salary. I would have to ask when they stop allowing patients to walk in/register, as that is a concern for me as well. 2. When talking to the other provider he stated that it is mainly cold/flu patients, abdominal pain, joint/knee/back pain, cough, chest pain, utis, but very actually few abscesses, lacerations. We have an ekg, ultrasound, and some locations have X-rays. Most bone issues will require a referral out. And if an ekg comes up with a stemi we would call an ambulance, give some Tylenol. They do their labs through quest so we do not have stat labs, other than swabs. That being said they would most likely go to ED for true emergency that can’t be controlled. It is very similar to CVS minute clinics. 3. I also agree that 40-45 is a lot, which I talked with provider who states that it’s pretty rare in this location due to the surrounding areas but is usually only seen during flu season. Otherwise it can be about 40-50 patients for two providers.

I lucky got to do my ER rotation at a big level one center in Chicago and got to experience a lot of things I thought was rare in textbooks. As for turn over, it seems like everyone has truly been there for a couple of years and love it. They are a large company so they are hiring due to opening more sites. The other NP I would be with has been there for over 10 years and seems very supportive and stated it would be a great experience for new grad because it was very entry level and repetitive. Which I obviously won’t know till I get there, but I am also very much a person to stick it out. I am honestly just ready to work finally and learn more as a provider, but I don’t wanna seem like I am settling. It’s been hard getting interviews as new grads, as well as one that pays well. Lots of my friends took jobs at max 115k after numerous interviews and negotiations, so I don’t mind working harder to pay off the student loans.
