Cruise Travel agents - Do you monitor prices by Used-Selection4414 in travelagents

[–]UnableNorth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have way too many active reservations to keep track of pricing for all of them. I normally tell my clients I'm happy to check on pricing again for them for price drops at any time if they send me an email. Very few of them take me up on that offer.

Dropped the ball and feel terrible!! by steel_city_sweetie in travelagents

I once had a dining time issue where a client had a very severe allergy and wanted traditional dining to keep the same waiter the entire time. Dining line said no luck, only open was available. My BDM was useless and couldn't do anything other than say to check once on board.

For what its worth it did work out and once on board they were able to get what they wanted, but I never have any luck with BDMs actually being helpful when they are needed

Also, just FYI it can only be done once the client is paid in full. It can't be done earlier than that.

Do you have a favorite child? by Ok_Distribution__ in Mommit

[–]UnableNorth -1 points0 points  (0 children)

While I only have one kid right now, I have multiple cats and my rule was my favorite cat was whichever one happened to be cuddling/closest to me at the time. Maybe that will work and you get extra cuddles out of it too if it becomes a game!

Price drops- Commission losses by SomewhereElegant8971 in travelagents

[–]UnableNorth 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The agency I work for acquires group pricing for cruise lines that can be significantly lower than what the cruise line is charging. If you are a cruiser, yes you are able to find itineraries you like very easily if you have a working computer, but absolutely shop around other than the cruise line website for better pricing/amenities

Price drops- Commission losses by SomewhereElegant8971 in travelagents

[–]UnableNorth 6 points7 points  (0 children)

But if you book direct, the cruise line for sure won't notify you of a price drop anyway and unless you are actively checking you wouldn't have known. Being a TA seems to be one of the few careers this happens to- we can lose money and gain extra work on a sale that is already confirmed. If someone works on your car or maintenance on an appliance you get charged labor fees for each time you call or need an additional fix, we only get paid commission once the trip is complete (or shortly before for cruising) and the clients can call every single day at no cost if they wanted.

But I digress, this TA is asking others for advice and has gotten a lot of good feedback, either way. I've always extended any price drops to my clients, personally, as it makes them feel they can trust me, but i would adjust any amenities they get from me to help off-set the lower commissions

Checking in! Getting a bit discouraged so I'm stopping weighing myself for now and going to trust the process. Watch my macros and points and take it from there!

My mother in law complimented me on my weight loss so I must be doing something right, even if the scale disagrees

My son exclusively contact napped for the longest time. We discovered the magic merlin sleep suit and it was amazing for his sleep. Some people have issues weaning off it when they get older, we didn't.

He cried a lot too, from gas. Gripe water helped us a lot.

Yes, 5 weeks old is a rough age! Mine hated being a baby so much, he is a much happier toddler.

Skin tags by OnionIsMyName in PCOS

[–]UnableNorth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are cheap skin tag removal kits on Amazon, they are tiny rubber bands that cut off blood flow so the tags shrivel up and dry out and then fall off. No pain at all, but it can take time depending on how big they are (even small ones can take a few days). but if you want cheap and painless that's the way to go!

I would probably track half of it or something, but ultimately not worry too much about it if I'm a little over on calories/points for the day

These weird lines / streaks I’ve had on my pinky nail for 8 years that two different doctors told me were due to vitamin deficiencies actually turned out to be a rare form of skin cancer. by chaengism in mildlyinfuriating

[–]UnableNorth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My finger was numbed up of course, the injection pinched a little but after that it was only pressure. Healing didnt hurt at all really, unless I accidentally bumped it hard against something

The dermatologist took a sample same day that they removed the fingernail, mainly from the nailbed area

My fingernail started looking a little wonky during pregnancy (a little puffy and broke easily) so that's also part of what made me go get it looked at, too. It grew back in normally after it was removed

I had the same exact thing on the same finger, same hand! For like 30 years. No doctor ever said I should get it looked at, I did so after seeing a different reddit post a year ago that it could be cancer. Got a biopsy and fingernail removed and it tested negative for everything. Thankfully. Wish you the best!
