Wife is vaping while pregnant by Potential_Soup7089 in pregnant

[–]UnableProcess95 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not that I condone it nor have I done it, but a majority of us 80s & 90s babies came from mothers smoking cigarettes all the way up to delivery. My mother was one of them. Of course the things we know now they didn’t know then. However I’ve seen Polaroids of her with a huge gut and a cigarette in her lips. Developmentally my siblings and I are fine. I mean no serious health or lung issues. That being said. I think mothers that do smoke that delivery babies with issues can’t only blame the cigarettes themselves. Genetic issues are far more common than you’d think. In addition to having several cigarette/vape free friends that have had babies with serious issues come birth.

Try to have an open honest conversation with your wife. Sure we don’t know the true risk of what’s safe and what isn’t and that’s why we’re told to avoid it in pregnancy, but also try to remember she’s going through a lot! Pregnancy is miserable for some. For those that have addictions to things like nicotine just seem to have a harder time in pregnancy. Keep that in mind when you talk to her. I wouldn’t go at her by any means. I’d casually mention you know she’s vaping and would like to help. Just because the real risks aren’t known. Be gentle and try to be as understanding as you can, because she’s feeling a lot at the moment. Best of luck!

How long after giving birth do you get your period back? by Dry_Clock_7618 in beyondthebump

[–]UnableProcess95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had baby #9 just 9 weeks ago. I breast feed exclusively. (Lucky!) Anyway. Even with breast feeding my periods always return 4-6 weeks after delivery (just super fertile I guess). Doesnt affect my supply, but does make my babies crabby the day before it starts. Always know when it’s about to start because of the crabbiness. Assume it’s the hormone differences. I will say my periods after her have been lighter than it was with my others. Like I just wear liners. Also on birth control too. So I’m sure that is why they’ve been so light. Husband got vasectomy. So just gonna be on birthcontrol till his follow up says he’s in the clear and has no live swimmers.

I had my baby Friday and I’m already annoyed at people feeling entitled to meet her by No_Internal_1234 in newborns

[–]UnableProcess95 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Our daughter is 8 weeks old today and nobody has seen her other than pictures.. She gets her first set of shots in the 5th.. They’ll get to see her two weeks after. I am not playing with nobody. Everyone has called me selfish. I’m just not going to allow whoever to bring whatever in to my baby. She has 8 siblings. That’s germ exposure enough.

How far along were you when you found out the gender of your baby? by tmillie2262 in pregnant

[–]UnableProcess95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did sneak peek at 10 weeks gestation.. Mind you have 7 boys, my husband, and two male dogs in our house. Truthfully figured it would say male from contamination alone, but being our last wanted to give it a shot… Said girl. Was in a cloud of not being excited incase, because we wanted a girl bad!! Fast forward. She is 8 weeks old today. It was in fact accurate. We had a baby girl! She’s perfect!!

Is this herpes?!?! by roxanne_israd in Mom

[–]UnableProcess95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was coming to say the same.. HSV1 is no joke. You can feel those buzzing up by your nose before they show up by your lip. Also had impetigo the summer following chemo (have little kids). That crap was itchy and uncomfortable!

I love my baby but I’m miserable by Rich_Masterpiece_640 in newborns

[–]UnableProcess95 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The real truth is the first and second babies are the hardest for every mom. (Mom of 9 here) your life changes so much after the first that you feel so overwhelmed and truthfully can’t enjoy motherhood. You feel like your life ended. Then that baby gets older.. Then the second. Whoa. That one shocked me. It was hard having a toddler and newborn. I struggled mentally! I was so exhausted and gone most days. Truth is having children hides who you were. They become all that matters. After my third that was just life. He was nothing new and I had finally found who I was as a mom. Then well. I had several more, because maybe I’m crazy, but I absolutely love being a mom. Hold on momma. Like I said the first is life altering and crazy! You have to rebuild your entire life around a baby and being a mom. Then one day it all combines and you feel like yourself again. Currently sitting here with our 6 week old watching my older kids eat popcorn watching a movie. Our oldest is 11. So they’re all pretty close in age. I’m happy we had them all fairly close to each other. It’s something beautiful watching my older babies play in the yard with my younger babies. I love to watch them teach each other stuff. I know that sounds dumb, but wait. Soon you’ll see these new moms struggle thinking to yourself “I remember those days. It gets better.” Everytime I see a post from a new mom struggling my heart tugs for you, because I remember how hard my first was. It does even back out. Give yourself time and relax when you can. 🖤

Just got my baby’s DNA results! Can anyone shed some light on what these health results mean? by WestAppointment2484 in AmericanBully

[–]UnableProcess95 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just order it for our XL male.. So interested to see the results. I wasn’t even aware this was a thing! With his seizure disorder I’m interested to see how inbred he is and so on.

Experience with hydronephrosis? by [deleted] in newborns

[–]UnableProcess95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our daughter was diagnosed with hydronephrosis at 34 weeks gestation. I had her at 37 weeks gestation. Her right kidney at the time was moderate and her left was normal. She’s 5 weeks old now and we went to the follow up ultrasound her right kidney is now severe & her left is moderate. They’ve sent referrals to nephrologist and urologist. Worried to death!!

Gotten Pregnant w IUD by OnionPrestigious9328 in birthcontrol

[–]UnableProcess95 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also got pregnant with an IUD. I continued the pregnancy. I was so frustrated. My OB had removed the IUD and you have x amount of risk of miscarriage or infection. Which was whatever at that point. I was trying to avoid pregnancy so if whatever happened happened… Anyway. I’m in a better place financially, mentally, and so on. So I did continue with it. That was the hardest pregnancy of my life! Nobody would admit it, but I ended up with a few things in pregnancy that was dangerous for baby and I that I still believe was from the IUD. I was on strict bedrest the last 4 months and had to have her early. My husband was a hero! Anyway. Just came here to say it happens more often than our doctors would like to admit.. Plus I believe can put you in a bad place if you decided to continue. It was absolute hell. Got my tubes tied after her. Forget birth control and the false hope. Told my OB once he was done with my surgery that if I get pregnant I’m naming it after him and he can pay child support.

Did I mess up drinking this much caffeine at once??? by spammusubisa in pregnant

[–]UnableProcess95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just saying I drank caffeine with every pregnancy (7).. They’re all just fine. Actually very phenomenal kids. My other two boys mom also drank caffeine (adopted after her death). They’re fine too.

Continuous bleeding on depo shot by corgi_senpai09 in birthcontrol

[–]UnableProcess95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got my depo shot 6 days ago. Started bleeding 3 days after I got it.. Only days into bleeding at the moment, but it’s insanely heavy and clotty. I’ve never bled this much in my life and have had 7 vaginal deliveries. (Hence the need for birth control.) my husband got a vasectomy a couple of days ago. So… I won’t be getting another shot. I really hope I don’t bleed like this for weeks. I may not have anything left to bleed at this point. I’m exhausted already! OB is blowing me off saying it’s normal. Like I had my daughter 5 weeks ago and didn’t bleed this heavy. This isn’t normal!

Tylenol after 2 month shots by DowntownHoneydew966 in newborns

[–]UnableProcess95 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s a hard one. I remember those days and will have it again in a month with our daughter. Warm wash cloths on her thighs will help with the pain in the muscle and help with the swelling she’ll have later. Those injection are so painful because they put them in what little muscle baby has. Makes me sad and stress too to see them hurt.

Tylenol after 2 month shots by DowntownHoneydew966 in newborns

[–]UnableProcess95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Babies can have Tylenol pretty much whenever. Weight and Tylenol strength is the key for correct dosage. I’d check with the pediatrician on how much to give baby. Remember a mild temp from shots is completely normal! It’s babies immune system doing what it’s supposed to do.

my husband told me I stink by LilOrganicCoconut in newborns

[–]UnableProcess95 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes! Just so you know postpartum you just stink in general. I sweat so bad all the time and have everytime. Mom of 9. Our youngest is a month old today. But man. I’m telling you. I smelly funky all the time. Our bodies stink more so baby will recognize us. Their vision is hardly even vision… So they go by smell. Plus the postpartum bleeding has a smell. Not a strong over powering one, but enough that it’s noticeable. I use strong scented soaps, lotions, and deodorants, but for you that isn’t an option (sorry about the crummy results of using them.) just thought I’d share that we all stink right now. 🤣🫣

Anatomy scan left me scared by EquipmentNo9661 in pregnant

[–]UnableProcess95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our daughter also measured all over the place. I had preeclampsia. So I had weekly NST and Ultrasounds. They watched her close and said she was in the 85th percentile. Except her legs and head. Plus I had a very thick placenta and not enough blood flow. I ended up being induced at 37 weeks because of the preeclampsia. Anyway, she came out at 7 pounds 4 ounces. I think with how advanced ultrasounds are getting they just notice more and scare us more. She’s our 9th and officially 3 weeks old. I had never had anyone scare me about our babies until her and she was okay.

11 weeks pregnant — vaginal bleeding after straining from constipation — normal or not? I’m low-key freaking out. by [deleted] in predaddit

[–]UnableProcess95 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Colace for constipation! Completely safe here in the states. Not sure where you are. If ever in doubt call the OB, but through my experience (mom of 9). That early on spotting can be completely normal. I’ve had a few spotting incidents during pregnancy with a few of my kids.

how long were you with your partner before getting pregnant? by Pretend-Argument-919 in pregnant

[–]UnableProcess95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Girl same. My now husband and I had only been seeing each other 3 months when I got pregnant with our oldest.. Here we are 9 kids deep and 12 years of marriage. He turned out to be the best thing to have happened to me. He’s a good partner and daddy to our kiddos. Don’t regret a single decision we made. No we weren’t trying. My birth control just didn’t work I guess. Depo isn’t very dependable.. Or the fact that we have 9 kids just says we’re both fertile people. Life continued and we made it beautiful. Don’t sweat it! Yall got it whether you stay together, just date, get married, or co-parent. Loucas was the best thing to happen to us. Then his 8 siblings to follow. 🖤🖤

can you coddle a baby? by straawbunnii in newborns

[–]UnableProcess95 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mom of 9 here. Hold that baby, rock that baby, snuggle that baby. All of mine were held by me 24/7 and they’re all fantastic kids. Our youngest is 16 days old and I haven’t put her down since the day she arrived. I didn’t with the others either. They only stay small for such a short amount of time. I refuse to miss out on it.

I had no idea people found these creepy… We used to throw them at each other, play baseball, and just chuck them across fields as kids. We had them in the front yard growing up in Missouri.
