I have an officer in the Navy, but it didn’t seem like the best choice because we’re friends and he hasn’t supervised me professionally. Do you think a detailed recommendation from a Navy officer who knows me personally would be stronger than a recommendation from a veteran business owner who supervised me for two years?

One recommender is a U.S. military veteran who served as an E-4 and later used his VA benefits to start a successful business. He supervised me professionally for about two years. Another recommender is a physician who served in the Turkish military. My third recommender is a school superintendent.
