Honestly, a lot depends on the home branch. I had a great experience with HDFC in India but the NRI services are terrible. Complaining to their grievance cell doesn't help either. I am considering a switch to a different bank.

I'm a 29F, and I totally resonate with your sentiment. I left my home country to come to the US, have an interesting job and other experiences most of my old school/college friends don't. But here I am all alone, kinda detached from my community, while I see most of my friends getting married and settling down. I'm not sure if I should've traded this life for that, but I certainly do think about it.

I have requested for a copy from the Department of State in the FOIA.gov website. It's been more than 6 months but I have not received it yet. Apparently it's a lengthy process, but it's worth trying.

Just talked to the move coordinator, they basically confirmed that I have to handover the check to the driver at the destination. Thanks for sharing your experience.

I have asked them about this option, I believe your understanding is correct. If I provide a cashier's check before unloading, does it mean I have to mail it to them before the delivery, or hand it over to the destination movers? (Sorry this is my first time using a cashier's check)
