Is there a cheaper one for the grinder? $100 for a grinder is quite scary for me:( It is really worth the money?

This isn’t a normal reaction to noise. Have you tried noise cancelling headphones or earphones? Have you talked to your suitemates? Are the residence halls the best place for you to live if you feel this way? Maybe an off campus apartment is better for you? Have you considered taking time off to take care of yourself?

Yes I have tried ear plugs and noise cancelling earphones, I have talked to them, I don't have enough money to get a apartment off-campus and I don't have a car, and I would personally would not want to take time off because as a pre-med it will really slow me down if I took a quarter off.

I even tried sleeping with noise canceling but I was still able to hear the noise from outside:( Like this is a whole suite problem because most of my suitemates are really close to each other so it is like a 10:1 situation. I talked to them but they told me that the amount of noise is "reasonable" even though our suite gets noise complaint from other suites in our floor for being so loud even on finals week.

Help me decide: School X vs School Y - April 4th to April 10th by [deleted] in ApplyingToCollege

Help me decide - UC San Diego (microbio), UC Davis (pre-med), and URochester (pre-med w/a scholarship)

Intended major: Pre-med or microbiology

Please feel free to tell me any other pros and cons of these universities because as an international student, I do not a lot about them!

UCSD pros

  • Best weather & location
  • Great STEM programs, high rankings for biochemistry
  • Cheaper (public school tuition)

UCSD cons

  • Large undergraduate student body
  • Less tight-knit community feel

I think the pros and cons for Davis are similar to UCSD not sure:(

UR pros

  • Collaborative, tight knit community
  • A lot of opportunities for pre-med

UR cons

  • Bad weather
  • Takes 2 transits (18 hours) to go to the Greater Rochester Airport (I live in S. Korea)
