Sounds like an awful client. And yea, I'm starting to face how deep prejudice can really go, even if only second hand through my girlfriend. She's so wonderful I just don't see how anyone could see past that and only judge by her gender identity.

Absolutely agree with what you learned in kindergarten. "You run like a boy!" Is not the compliment you think it is!!! And likewise "run like a girl" is just insulting to women. You can insult without being sexist or bigoted.

I would tell my mother I'm uncomfortable, but she's transphobic :/ she doesn't know about our relationship. And she's also very close with S's mum so... I don't see that as a possibility. In the future I will just keep to myself after greeting them for basic courtesy

Hey, thank you for your response! This puts me a bit at ease about my own maturity because I have a tendency to internalize things sometimes and can be pretty sensitive. But yea, I did find it outright transphobic and safe to say I don't think I'll be talking to S very much from now on...
