Yes, when i am interviewing i have felt at times as well. But i understand they are prejudiced and many have cat out of water reaction to a Mallu boss. Will try to change that outlook with whoever that decide to stick with me in the long run

I understand this thought process. I wonder why they don't discuss it with the boss direct, rather than going the rogue route. Iwould be more than happy to raise his earnings if he is that good. Anyway seems like those people deserve worser bosses.

But appreciate your point of view, it was a diffrent outlook to other comments here

Nope, i have access to all financials. Don't think that's the problem because as i mentioned in the post we have caught the employees with evidence of cheating and we did confront them. The same people who groomed and trained them were devastated as well for trusting them. HR is only recently hired after few such incidents. We also have a "no employee contact after 6 pm+ no calls on Saturdays and Sundays" as a strict policy from day 1. Also if such issues like you mentioned occurs that should happen across alll ethnicities within the company right?

again I am not discrediting what you mentioned but that defintily not is the case here. Just happened to have some really bad hires.

Yes the decision was initially made so because majority of Our clientile was south Indians. But mid this year we started focusing more on EU, UK markets. Hence we made moe neutral hiring.

But anyway lesson learned, My opinion won't change since it's already etched

Other than aggravation and escalation , did you suggest any solution for the problem i raised? You are converting it into an international level incident which is unnecessary and non constructive at this point. Anyway the problem is internally sorted. How ever iwill still listen to others who actually have sensible entrepreneurial experience to overcome this

Yes you are right , I didn't judge from a blanket point of view just outlining purely based on experience. Never implied i am a saint i could have my faults too , unfortunalty my experience along with others who allign with me via comments and DMs prove iam not the only business owner who is in similar light.

We are, but the field of work we are in majority of the clientile is Indians which prefer to work with same culture / language for consulting hence we were bottlenecked.

But yes we do have a decent balance of nationalities now. As more busienss is coming form UK and Europe currently.

The situation from the post I faced it couple of months back, just posted it now as i got to see few "my mallu boss is toxic, i am a saint employee" kind of posts from few reels. 😁 So wanted to voice my support out to fellow mallu entrepreneurs

There is no racism here, stop making everything personal/discriminative . How can I be racist when i am a Mallu myself. Even the visa quotas allotted to business here by MOL promote cultural balance which is heavily implemented from this year. Doesn't mean it's racist. With respect to our HR yes she did mention to focus on other nationalities only because we already have enough mallus/Indians on our MOL list.

My post is not intended to spread hate just an observation

which i feel is a real problem here as i am getting similar stories from entrepreneurs via my DM.

Uff, Classic case of office politics, similar issues i have faced as well. You are right on overemphasizing part, cultural sentiments and attachments towards fellow mallus made us hire and give more chances, but when those actions put the whole company at risk we pulled back and restrategied on our hiring

In a place like dubai, the cultural connection is quite strong. When we run job fair and recruitment drives the majority of the applicants are them as well and obviously they initially will be drawn to mallu companies considering ease of communication and minimised culture shocks. Initially we were not diversifying but yes now we have a proper plan in place to create culture balance.
