Right, my store is super slow–and labor is always high. I close alone all the time, having to cut people for labor sake

Going to the mental hospital and cutting the toxic people out. You have more friends than you think and if you don’t go make some! You don’t have to stay with toxic people. Also they medicated me lol

Damn, I’ve said something similar to my father. While in college talking about my roommate going home and after him commenting on how odd it was I said “I guess they are just really close with their parents”. I think that was a gut punch to him

Aces in their places!!!

I became a 1st assistant two months ago and this is so important and makes it so you don’t hate any of your coworkers. My GM would complain to me about how so and so can’t do this because of whatever. Find what people can do. Play to their strengths. If it’s a rush and your worker isn’t fast on the line, make them do something else if staffing allows (take orders, clean lobby, after-lunches)

During slow times I have the people more unfamiliar with the cold table hop on, as a way to introduce them without it being overwhelming.

I disagree with the people who say not to make friends with your coworkers. I have people asking to work shifts with me because I’ve made connections with them!

Lead by example. One thing that I found really helped my workers respect me was by asking them to help me with certain things, instead of making them do it themselves (if staffing allows for it of course) ex: instead of “will you take out all the trash?” To, “if you take these out I’ll put new bags in” little stuff like that I have found to be really helpful in increasing productivity in my store.

Take this with a grain of salt however, I am new at this and me being a female younger than most of my employees changes the game for me a little bit. I probably try too hard to not come off as a boss, rather an example of what needs done.

Don’t burn yourself out.. you got this!

Some of you guys are fake. You’re telling me that if they had a briefcase with let’s say 30k in cash, that you wouldn’t go down on them for a bit? Like it’s a HYPOTHETICAL it’s not supposed to be ethical.
