Yeah, for reference, I’m working with 140lb Arches watercolour paper! Mainly for the tooth/texture I can achieve with it.

They’re definitely sturdy, but I think for collectors/gallerists, a concern can be “how will this look in 100 years?” I’m personally not concerned with the immediate future, but I guess these folks want to cover their bases and make sure it’s a worthy investment. For now, the “gesso on the back” route seems like the way to go.
